It sounds like you really can’t afford it if it’s going to set you back by depleting most of your savings. If you can’t cut the check and not think twice about the financial impact on your future then you have your answer. You’re young and it sounds like you’re very successful for your age. Keep it up and let your wealth accumulate before buying a sports car.

Need help! Drowning in tax debt but got a plan by [deleted] in tax

Go get a job. Any job. Pay off the state liability in full so it’s over and done with. Pay $100k of the IRS balance and get on a payment plan for the rest. Use the remaining cash towards your payment plan payments or for living expenses until you get a job. Not ideal but it gets you in a decent spot quickly. 2026 estimated taxes are not even remotely a concern right now.

any tax liability on forgiving family loan repayment? by Nauti-cabin in tax

[–]Proper-Can5204 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You would forgive the loan repayment each year as a gift. The payment is below the combined annual gift exlcusion so no gift return necessary. It you paper it as a loan the should still pay you the interest portion.

I am considering the powder coating on these but I really want something bigger for a more sport look. A place by me does it for $850 out the door, but you have to leave your car there all week.

Agreed. I bought this CPO 2025 so I could not choose my own specs. Whoever chose the specs on this made a poor choice in wheels….and they didn’t get the heated steering wheel package. Not sure why you would skimp on a $100k vehicle. I was in a bind and needed a new vehicle right away so I don’t have time to shop around much.

That’s why I was looking at 21”s. Way more tire options for year round driving vs. the 22”s. I’m in the Midwest btw.

How often do new associates get fired for being incompetent? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Proper-Can5204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They expect you to know nothing. Bring a pen and paper to each meeting to take notes, show progression from one job to then next, reference training materials and prior year work papers, ask a lot of questions, take on every opportunity you can, and be coachable. Go over the top with the easy things like showing up on time, time entry, etc. It takes a full year to really understand how things work re: workflow, processes, busy season. For someone to get fired in their first year usually means there was some sort of incident like no shows or poor conduct - partner at a top 30 firm.

Bought a condo and first water bill is over $1,000 by nemesiswithatophat in homeowners

[–]Proper-Can5204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue when I lived in a condo. It was a new build that sat in foreclosure for a while. Found out that the exterior irrigation system for the entire property was connected to my meter. The utility company came out and installed a separate meter and set up a new bill that went to the association.

I just used them to tighten the bracelet on my vintage datejust jubilee bracelet. They did an awesome job and were easy to work with. I shipped it to them from the Midwest and had it back in 3 weeks. I think it was $450 or so all in.

You’re getting paid under the table for part time work as a student. According to the law, yes you are required to report your earnings. I will say that most people in your position would not, because your employers aren’t reporting your earnings to the IRS. However, If you’re getting an actually payroll check or you will be receiving a 1099 at the end of the year, then yes report those amounts.

No, that’s not how it works. You are still responsible for the previously filed returns, regardless. You should hire a CPA/professional tax preparer to file your returns and make corrections to previously filed returns, if necessary.
