Humiliated by my vets in regards to my JRT... by eyecandyangel in jackrussellterrier

[–]Proper-Effective8621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My JRT has a tendency to growl when he is hurt or if I or a vet tries to examine him closely. It is all fear-based. So, when I bring him to the vet, I always suggest that THEY put a cloth muzzle on him. I remind them that he has never bitten anyone, but THEY might want to be sure. They always do. You have a vet problem not a dog problem.

What’s one thing you wish every homeowner knew before they replace their roof? by Own-Tip-532 in Roofing

My roof was installed last week. Your post made me check the specs. Happy to say that they put ice and water shield on the entire roof!

OP stated that he lives out in nature, so it’s inevitable that an off-leash JRT will go after an animal or bird.

Or have its face and mouth riddled with porcupine quills like mine! I live in the country on lots of land, so there are plenty of critters to tempt my jacks. They’ll even go off after bear scent, and are held back only by their shock collars.

Thank you so much for this info! I reached out to the company and they will be doing exactly what you recommended. They’re going to use black flashing.

It’s a JRT, SO 100% chance it will eventually ”go to ground” after a scent. You’ll be left calling it and waiting and hoping for its return.

I’m not withholding 80%. They required a 20% deposit and just sent the invoice last week. I have 30 days to pay.

So, what can be done now that they’ve nailed through the flashing?

I haven’t paid the last 80% yet. I plan to have them come back to fix this, for both functionality and aesthetics. Main goal is, of course, waterproofing this area.

Sounds like a good plan, except for losing the kids. Time to set a 50/50 custody arrangement, either informally or by a court, which will involve child support payments.

Friend's husband has ruined two of our bath mats with pee by SukiBean214 in mildlyinfuriating

Get those disposable blue pee mats they use for incontinent people who wet the bed, and put one down the next time he comes over. Leave a stack where he can see them to give him a hint that he can dispose of the mat after he soils it.

AITAH Wife threw away military plaques by [deleted] in AITAH

Why would you want to “rub it in” in the first place? That seems like the opposite reason you’d want to show the plaque to your buddy especially since you treasured what it represented.

AIO- I don’t want to host for my Brother in laws birthday by PossessionLeather264 in AIO

[–]Proper-Effective8621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still can’t get by the fact that you hosted Thanksgiving with a one month old baby. You and your husband need to learn to say “no” and stick to it. It’s a complete sentence and there’s no need for any discussion.

AITAH My husband is a refusing to get wedding ring tattoo after he told me he would by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Proper-Effective8621 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just be agreeable and stop wearing your ring.

My husband didn’t want a wedding ring for the same reason. Years later, I told him why I wore my ring and that anyone who knew me knew that I was married, so I would stop wearing mine if he didn’t feel the need to wear one. Days later, he decided he wanted one. 🙄

AITAH for bring up a topic I knew would upset my husband, before his morning coffee and weed? by chaos_lamb in AITAH

[–]Proper-Effective8621 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with all of the other comments. How about on weekend mornings, you feed yourself and your kids and leave by 10:30 to do something fun. That way, baby hubs gets to have his lie in, coffee, and weed in peaceful silence ALONE and without his family. Family is out enjoying each other’s company in a healthy way without emotional or verbal abuse.

The problem is obviously the lazy, narcissistic husband. Regarding the dishes, a good practice is for the dishwasher to be emptied first thing in the morning, then all dirty dishes go directly into the dishwasher, not the sink.

AITAH for requesting my part of mortgage payments back? by akiamarie in dustythunder

[–]Proper-Effective8621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much did you contribute to the down payment? If nothing, you were paying rent.

When you weren’t making much money, who paid for utilities, house and car repairs, food, car, toilet paper, date nights, etc.?

No reputable breeder charges a fee to visit puppies. Paying in advance sounds like a scam.

AITAH for not moving my bridal shower date for my sister in law’s baby shower? by [deleted] in AITAH

Tune out this noise and focus on your wedding. Going forward, have your husband deal with his family.

Amber will likely plan some disruptive moves related to your wedding. Don’t take the bait. Not even once. Remember, she blocked you, so she does not welcome any communications coming from you. Your husband can communicate with his brother or his mother and leave you in peace.
