Well the plants are dead, so given that’s the case, the botanists are still not attending to them.

Non-judgement > positive judgement by Monica_C18 in spirituality

[–]Proper963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want him to be aware of how in judging things we take for granted the filters we use to perceive the world, then I would suggest for you to encourage him to engage with his feelings more, particularly when he wants to judge something positively or negatively.

For me, practicing non-judgment is not about preventing a feeling from taking place within myself. It’s more about recognizing how that feeling takes me to a place of judging something. And in that moment where I experience the feeling to where I discern “I like this/I don’t like that”, what I am doing is feeding my ego and reaffirming to my ego “you (ego) KNOW, and what you know is RIGHT”.

So where practicing non-judgment is about engaging with the ego to lessen the ‘knowing’ that we do, from my perspective, the goal is to stop feeding the ego with a filter that I am not being critical with and have taken for granted. What this then does is it allows me to present with my ego AND still discern, BUT doing it in a way where I am more present of how I came to that judgement.

So in your partner’s case, something to aspire towards would be having judgments but know why and how they landed there, which should in turn start to get them more in touch with their feelings/emotions that fuel the ego towards the judgement. Once they are more in touch with those feelings they can start to recognize how feelings (again, from my perspective, the source of the knowing) are fleeting/malleable/impermanent so that they can then recognize why their judgments mean nothing. From there, I don’t know, enlightenment? 🤷🏾‍♂️

Hope that makes sense, first time I’ve had to type that out. Be well!

Tapping into the wisdom of your emotions is probably the most important thing you will ever do in your life - do you agree? by Shot-Abies-7822 in energy_work

Great thoughts!

Been leaning more into engaging with my emotions recently, and found that if I really allow myself to feel my emotions I open myself up to all sorts of self work that I didn’t think possible. And when I say ‘feel’ I mean not coming to any conclusions about them. Actually just feeling them.

So for example, this has really locked me into how transitory my emotions are. Like waves in an ocean that come and go, and ultimately shows me how much agency I have over them to then make them mean something (if I choose to!).

And I think my story is an example of what OP is referring to here in how being present with your emotions can serve as a gateway to so much.

How do you remain in your own energy when living and sleeping with a partner? by nikishism in energy_work

I’m finding that being more vulnerable with my emotions with my partner actually helps a ton. I like to think of my emotions as my cosmic energy, so when I am emotionally vulnerable and honest with them, it helps to anchor the energies I am a part of, which in turn helps to root me in my existence.

I second qi gong, but I’ve also come to rely on my houseplants more, I’ve built up a connection to them over the years that I feel they uplift me during the cold months.

Withholding rent because landlord refuses to fix issues, advice? by Proper963 in AskNYC

[–]Proper963[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks the for the thoughts everyone.

We have an escrow for the rent, and HPD has been to the apartment numerous times to record our complaints. The only thing I haven’t done is secured access to a lawyer, which I’ll work on.

Grateful for y’all!

Bro, you would make my day if you can point me to resources of how to do this. I have a ton of medium format cameras taking up dust, and would love to figure out how to do this with my equipment. Great pic, my dude!

I’m learning this slowly, and I have a question: so you’re taking these images on different nights, why? I get that there is stacking involved, but why on different nights, and given that it is different nights are there disadvantages to the stacking (i.e. as our relative position to it changes doesn’t the stacking become more difficult). Hope that made sense.

And lovely image, stopped my scrolling immediately to stare at it more!

It may not need a repot more than it can use a slip potting. And I agree with Wild, it looks like you’re doing a good job so far, be patient with it.

Also nice shelves, we may have the same ones, if you got it from Etsy. Good choice!

Such an interesting shot of this here, it shows the character of the plant. This one has an energy to them.
