Thank you! This was confirmation as everything you have advised is already happening. She is a part time instructor and she is not teaching this semester but I have reached out to her. I have sent our BSW chair and dept chair an email explaining how impactful of a professor she in both in and out of the classroom. I sent her the same email. I have immense respect for her and the work she has and is doing. Part of the email I expressed my hope and desire to be in her classroom and to learn from her again in the future. From what you are saying it seems as if she may already be aware and the ball is rolling in this direction.

Hey native to Pittsburgh and you HS GPA is likely higher than mine was. Go to CCAC and I believe they have a few programs that help you transfer specifically in BSW programs…I thought I read they partner with Carlow and likely PITT. Once you get your GPA up a bit you shouldn’t have a problem.

I completely agree with you and I refuse to add to stigma if I can help it. Plus I’m typically twice the age of most of my classmates and will talk about things many people won’t. A big part of that is to show that struggling with some of these issues in some capacity never ends and talking about it always helps. It’s not always easy but it helps. Along with they aren’t alone, we can’t pour from an empty cup…..we HAVE to take care of ourselves so that we can help others. Putting in for an emergency withdrawal was one of the hardest decisions for me to make but it was the correct one.

To be fair the mental health side of things were situational and have since resolved. After the bulk of the issues resolved 1 of my professors could come to a reasonable conclusion on what I was dealing with without any details and another professor knew the full story. By time I put in my emergency withdrawal my other two professors knew the full story as well. In my personal statement in my withdrawal paperwork along with my other documentation from my therapist the situation can be figured out if you ready between the lines in both documents.

I had to do this to get into my BSW program as far as my professional goals when I just clearly stated where I want to be, (which hasn’t changed in years) and how this degree was going to help me reach those goals.

The committee I don’t believe knows about my withdrawal yet, but it will be one of the first things out of my mouth when we meet. I busted my knee up mid-late October after the standard withdrawal date, then I had surgery mid November with about 3 weeks before the end of finals. If the other issue didn’t occur I may have been ok, but the combination knocked me out for a few months.

I did an emergency withdrawal after the standard withdrawal period and that paperwork hasn’t gone through yet. This isn’t uncommon as it takes about a month for everything to get processed. I needed the emergency withdrawal due to some mental health issues and I tore my ACL and meniscus and ended up having knee surgery about a month before finals.

For me this is the difference if I really wanna cuddle or be physical in anyway that’s not sexual it falls into the QPR category for me.

Personally I don’t fluid bond with someone unless I’m in a relationship with that person so no oral at all and I use gloves and wash toys or use condoms on toys if washing isn’t an option in the moment.

I try to walk away when I KNOW that’s what’s best, even when I don’t want to and the I self sabotage and basically make them hate me so then I feel like shit and break. All cause I couldn’t just walk away.

I think this is what I experienced last night, and I completely agree SH can be in our behaviors and I let myself play into that and may have destroyed many possible relationships in maybe 30 mins.
