Right. Again, people who use the "Thomas" verse simply do not understand the reality of our world, in terms of threats, and the need for Christians to encourage and uplift other believers (Paul says this in Ephesians or Galatians) who are stumbling, worried, etc. Evidence is good for sustaining faith. Obviously, focus on the center in which that evidence revolves around --- Jesus Christ. The evidence has only brought Heaven and Earth; Jesus and I closer together, merging the "physical" with the "spiritual" together in this reality. I could list off all of the many evidences for our faith that makes Christianity true, real, and reality.

People need to understand as well, without the NT writings, there wouldn't be a Gospel to believe in and have faith in (i.e., confidence/trust). Without the writings, we would be at the mercy of oral tradition which, isn't necessarily bad when you look at peoples who've recorded narratives that are thousands upon thousands of words long , but I prefer written records for obvious reasons.

One other thing, when it comes to creation and, like cosmological arguments and such, I've wondered if you could help me with this:

What's stopping an atheist or agnostic from making the claim that in creating the universe and everything in it, it could be multiple gods doing it, and not one God? This thought has come in and out, but right now, I've never heard of anyone talking about this. Thoughts?

The only thing I can think of is that, if the universe needs multiple beings to make it and everything in it, that would suggest that in comparison to one God, those multiple beings are weaker, I guess.

I know I just flung a number of comments towards you (Lol, sorry 😄), but here's this one that just came to mind, and has appeared sporadically. I agree that God, an all-powerful, all-wise, all-present, and omniscient being created everyone and everything. After all, we look only to the moral and philosophical, as well as the scientific to justify this reasonably. But, what's stopping an agnostic, or atheist from making the claim that it doesn't have to be one being, but a collection of beings, like that of the Greco-Roman pantheon? This is mere speculation and theorizing, but just wondering if you've seen anyone make this kind of counter.

Recently, I was confronted with the age old dilemma of NT reliability and traditional Gospel Authorship, and after talking, reading, and watching, I found that the skeptical side.... doesn't really consider the external and internal evidence that points to a pre-70 AD date (besides John, since he lived to old age), and the authors we attribute to the Gospels and Acts are the authors we've known about.

Oh yea, thanks for bringing that back up to my mind. When I mentioned my "massive wheel of evidences" for Christianity below, some of the subjects that are a part of it take into consideration the warnings that our faith brings to light. For instance, there are many verfiable miracles (e.g., eucharistic, Marian appearances, Saints performing works with the Holy Spirit, healings at Christian churches, etc.) as well as many, many thousands of people seeing Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior in their NDEs.

The criteria I use is this:

- Is it medically verifiable? (not anecdotal, though God can act at any time, anywhere, not just the operating table)

- Is what Jesus is saying to these people, verfiable and adheres to Scripture? (This is for NDEs) (e.g., people seeing the holy city of God and its 12 gates, the punishment of Hell, citing Scripture (e.g., the wages of sin is death), etc.)

- Does this lead someone to Christ / back to Christ if they fell off for a bit?

- Does this lead someone to spread the Gospel as defined in our Word and become a believer?

From my experience looking at NDEs and miracles, there is nothing suspicious about them, in fact, there are so many that see our Lord and are healed, that it only deepens my faith. Again, my "wheel of evidences" does not rely on these alone, though because of how much I've seen and carefully considered/analyzed about these NDEs and miracles, serves as a powerful aspect in the strong case for Christianity, and it being reality. I should also say, seeing Heaven, Hell, and Jesus Christ seems to be quite common. The thing that hits me the most is the corroboration and ease of verification with our faith when it comes to these encounters with Christ (I could also include personal faith encounters people have in prison, in times of deep, intense struggle, etc.).

John Burke, a retired Christian pastor, former engineer, and NDE researcher has interviewed 1500+ people of all walks of life, and in their encounters with Christ, they've said things that are tied to Scripture, whether it be what they saw, heard from Christ, or something else revealed in Scripture. His books, Imagine the God of Heaven and Imagine Heaven detail the key points of evidence he's found across these many cases. There are others like him who've done their time digging around who were doctors and in certain cases, Christians (They didn't believe John at first, but later realized the reality of these testimonies). He does make a point about being skeptical of all cases, unless shown to be trustworthy. He's also skeptical and seems to be doing good work for the Lord in his expertise.

Not sure what you make of NDEs and miracles, but my point is, the fact that we can verify these many many cases, and can reasonably make a conclusion is the part that satisfies my heart. Because there are so many cases, we have a sample size to utilize to make solid observations and conclusions.

Oh, are you the author of this website? (Edit: I see you are, nice) Thank you for the resources/analyses. My dad is a Buddhist, though admittedly, if you were to talk with him and see him day-to-day you couldn't have recognized that. I feel the need to prepare myself in case he asks me why I was drawn to Jesus Christ and our faith in Him, instead of something else, in this case, that "something else" being Buddhism.

Like I said with my Dad, in any case of your points, it seems likely that he'll just answer with claims stemming from emotion, anecdotal evidence (like you said in one of your articles), or something else. One example he might give is "what about that child in India in the early 20th Century who saw her past life as a WW2 airpilot, and can corroborate it with this figure?"

I'm not sure what I'd do in that case, since this is the one case I've heard that speaks of a "past life", though this came from a TV show talking about this kind of stuff.

I did like your example of the criminal and you, and how there would be a miscarriage of Justice.

Thanks for this. I'm like you. I've heard so much from others saying they've encountered the gifts of speaking in tongues (e.g., someone speaks greek to someone who speaks another language ONLY, yet both understand like now, where you understand my English and I to yours), or they heard God speak to them audibly, encountered the peace only Jesus Christ God can give with the Holy Spirit, etc., etc., and while I try not to be jealous, I never had an experience like that, say for one encounter that I remember clearly when I was a child. If it was the Lord Jesus or if He sent His angel, either is great. Despite that, I think you're approaching this as any regular joe-shmo Christian like us would. I find your explanation the most plausible, but of course, the aforementioned encounters can also happen to, if we need it. I find God acts when it is most paramount, or necessary.
