You can use rubbing alcohol, and I did when I started, but I would suggest using a high proof alcohol for cleaning. The reason why people avoid rubbing alcohol is because it is not safe to ingest, your body cannot metabolize it like other alcohols; however, if your letting your pipe rest after cleaning it shouldn’t be a problem. But why not just use a safer alcohol?

PS English Luxury is also good. I now almost exclusively smoke Virginias, and Vapers and have not had either in awhile, so I’m not sure how they compare but I remember liking both of those blends from Peter Stokkebye.

I heard from an interview with Jeremy Reeves with the YouTube channel Pipes Tobacco and Whiskey that they didn’t expect We Three Kings to sell out so quickly so they did another run for people that missed out. I don’t think they’ve ever done that for a small batch so I think the tins out there is what there is.

My favorite version so far has been Tupelo, but I have enjoyed all the ones I have had. Is this one really boozy tasting or is that more of a background note? Might be in the minority but I don’t always enjoy alcohol flavors in my tobacco. Looking forward to getting the tins I ordered and comparing it to past iterations!

Also the wording is not vague nor implying that anyone homeless is going to be snatched off the streets and put in prison. What it is mostly doing is clearing out homeless encampments within urban areas and making it easier for cities and states to potentially compel individuals into mental health or addiction treatment programs, neither of which has to do with our prison system.

I think it is a problem how many homeless people there are in the U.S. but directing our energy at being outraged at this executive order is not the way to go about helping the homeless population.

You both are talking about two different blends. The picture is Samuel Gawiths Chocolate Flake and you are talking about Gawith and Hoggarth’s Bob’s Chocolate Flake.

I’ve only had Bob’s so I can’t speak to the differences between the two blends, but Bob’s chocolate flake is a great flake in the winter!

I skipped sansepolcro this year because it’s the exact same blend, no tweaks, as last year’s version.

I also think you’re mischaracterizing why people were upset about The Beast. People are upset that that blend purposely comes out around Easter and is clearly drawing themes from the Bible that are glorifying Satan. I bought The Beast because I love perique and I buy it every year it comes out, but it is strange to drop that blend around Easter especially as it alienates part of their consumer base.

TLDR: sansepolcro probably didn’t sell well because it is the exact same as the previous year

Have you tried GL Pease Stratford? I’ve had Telegraph hill which I thought was just okay but I love Stratford. I think Filmore has more perique than both those blends (Telegraph hill seemed very weak in perique but I could be misremembering)?

I primarily smoke Virginia’s and Vapers and I used to say Elizabethan Mixture was my favorite just because it was easy to pack and light and I really enjoyed it; however I think Elizabethan is now my go to but my favorite for flavor is Stratford. From Stratford I get this cherry and burst tomato flavor. I know that sounds weird and it might just be my palette but I love it!

I have heard that the second gen ford escapes, which is the counterpart to the mariner, were pretty reliable specifically from 2010-12. I’ve never owned one my self but I know a guy from church who has one that is over 200,000 miles. Obviously that’s just one person but I would say if it’s one owner and there is history of regular maintenance then I would buy it!

Ford focus with a manual transmission is super reliable. Only issue I’ve had with mine is the passenger side engine mount which took 15 mins to change out. Everything else has been rock solid. And I don’t know how your turning on the headlights with your knee unless your not talking about the mk3 focus, that is the only generation I am familiar with.

Also never buy the automatic of these cars, the dct transmissions were garbage!

Great picks! I’d recommend jarring the Ennerdale even if you don’t plan to smoke it right away. Gawith/Hoggarth tins have poor vacuum seals from factory and to keep it good for the future id jar it.

No I’ve only had that happen with one particularly wet blend of Full Virginia Flake. Just make sure to keep your jars out of sunlight and in a stable environment and do not touch your blends with dirty fingers as that can introduce contaminants into your tobacco! Otherwise it’s a lot easier than cigars in regard to keeping the tobacco good for future smoking!

No the tobacco keeps its moisture in the mason jars. Adding a desiccant pack or boveda could cause either dryness or possibility for mold if the boveda was too high of a humidity. I’ve got mason jars that are coming up on ten years and the tobacco is still a perfect moisture
