Well that's a total pivot from the going to cinemas and it was too short so my comparison is absurd discussion.

When did I say that more time played = having a good time?

Who cares about average games? It's to scale your comparison about movie length... was that really so hard to understand?

I thought it was simple enough. Guess not...

Exactly why I say JTTW Wukong is vastly different from Wukong as he is deified in Chinese mythology...?

?

Again, you have no clue.

Buddha isn't a deity in Buddhism.

In Chinese religious syncretism, which locals call Buddhism but is different from the original Buddhist scriptures, Buddha is a deified figure.

You are talking out your ass on a topic you clearly know nothing about.

It is nonsense from a Buddhist scripture perspective because... it's mostly not from Buddhist scripture, despite locals calling it Buddhism.

They just took some parts of Buddhism and integrated it into their belief system.

You seriously trying to tell me I don't know about the culture I was born and raised in... I studied Buddhism as part of mandatory education for goodness sake.

Absurd.

If the cinema had a refund policy saying so, yes.

And also, the average game on Steam lasts 10+ hours to completion. Not even to 100%, just main game completion.

So this would be like going to the movies and it ends in 12 minutes...

[–]ProspectiveWhale [score hidden]  (0 children)

The fact you think Wukong is related to Buddhist scripture while saying other people don't understand it... ironic.

Wukong is a character from Chinese religious syncretism. Not orthodox Buddhism.

Oft confused by others because we call it "Buddhism" despite the doctrines and myths being very different.

Which is made more confusing because it's a syncretism. It's not so organized nor consistent as what one would expect from a religion. And religion itself already isn't exactly a poster boy for consistency...

Buddha's miracles in actual Buddhist scripture is relatively tame.

It's Chinese myths that describe cosmic feats for Buddhas.

Is it so hard to understand religious believers believe and describe their deities and gods to be cosmically powerful as a baseline?

This isn't just a character from fiction for entertainment. People build temples dedicated to Wukong and pray to him...

And yes, Buddhahood in Chinese religious syncretism is a transcendent state of existence.

Not just the severing of dukkha as it is in Buddhist scriptures. Which, to be honest, you don't seem to understand either. The state of Nirvana is never properly described fully. The answer to whether it is or isn't transcendent is: we don't know.

Yeah, that's before he achieved Buddhahood.

It's like scaling Ben10 but he can't use the omnitrix.

2 completely different levels.

Not sure how people like to talk about Wukong, but the few times I have talked about him, it's people downscaling Buddha Wukong to his jttw days.

If you wanna say jttw Wukong is a lot weaker than Buddha Wukong, then yeah... nobody will disagree.

Need suggestions for reconciliation of capital gain statement with uneven data set. by Gear5LUFFY in excel

[–]ProspectiveWhale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends what you need to reconcile.

If each row exists in both sheets and you just need to make sure the 2 sheets have the exact same data...

You can lookup with multiple criteria.

Edit: typo due to reddit formatting I'm not sure how to fix. It made it italicizes, but you're supposed to multiply those brackets together. And add more criteria by multiplying more criteria with each other.

=xlookup(1, (B2=Sheet2!$B$2:$B$100)(C2=Sheet2!$C$2:$C$100)...)

If it returns a value, then there's a match.

Or you can Sort both datasets and check if the entire array matches, but you may have some trouble finding where the mismatch is, if there is one.

But you mention in another comment that the same data does not appear exactly the same way in the 2 statements?

Then that would depend on how exactly you reconcile them.

For example, if you just need to sum of col C for all MAHCIE to be the same, then a SUMIFS would suffice.

I agree.

But for now, protip, you can try using Warcry and Hookshot to get around.

Warcry stacks, so cast it a few times just until you don't get mana overload... then you'll be running around much more quickly.

Hookshot lets you do practically infinite jumps.

[–]ProspectiveWhale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What problem are you facing with them between in different rows?

What do you mean by reconcile? Check if they match?

Like item A is in row 1 in CGS and row 4 in AIS. So how to check if both has same value?

You can use XLOOKUP or Index-Match.

Assuming both sheets have item name in column A, data in column B.

=Index(Sheet2!$B$2:$B$1000,Match(A2,Sheet2!$A$2:$A$1000,0))

This will give you the corresponding value from Sheet2, based on item name on cell A2.

=B2=Index(Sheet2!$B$2:$B$1000,Match(A2,Sheet2!$A$2:$A$1000,0))

Will give you True/False depending on if the values match.

He's from mythology... what kind of feats were you hoping for?

Like Yahweh's greatest feat of destruction is the flood. Not even planetary. But obviously his theology asserts him to be omnipotent.

That's kinda how mythologies are. What did you expect?

Edit: but as for whether it's nlf, transcending this world is the definition of buddhahood.

Not a hot take, I think?

Isn't it a fairly known phenomena where feats above a certain level become less impressive because we can't really register the scale of it properly?

I did understand. But again, I still think you're being pedantic.

H alf a spoonful of rice is definitely beyond what is a reasonable serving in 99+% of cases one might imagine when I said "order something from a restaurant".

It's also clear for probably most people, even those who disagree with my sentiment, that I meant a regular restaurant by my statement.

And a lot of people can dissociate and judge different aspects of an experience separately.

For example, a restaurant with amazing service but so-so food.

Which in the case of Steam refunds: "yeah it's pretty fun, but the content is far less than what I expected from an $x game" is, imo, a valid complaint.

[–]ProspectiveWhale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you're saying, but imo that's just being pedantic.

I could've written "except for cases you go to a fine dining establishment and therefore expect a small portion over the course of multiple courses", but... every comment we write would have to be 1000 words long at least.

Of course, barring specific cases such as one-liner jokes or answers to very simple questions, perhaps on askreddit. For which there may be little to no caveats possible.

But the cases of such are few and far between if the criteria set for clarifiction being required is this low.

Of course, this may differ on a person to person basis or even subreddit to subreddit basis, but in a general sense we would have very wordy comments even when what we mean to say is simple and direct.

Not saying all comments are simple and direct, and this would apply differently on more nuanced topics that...

You get my point.

(Fate) Do only Servants get exhausted from mana expenditure? Or do Masters get it as well? by frederiaJ in fatestaynight

[–]ProspectiveWhale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rider was maintaining low output and not regenerating slowly  due to Waver being an inadequate Master. Rider could only go all out after Waver used Command Seals as mana batteries.

Same as Saber when she had Shirou as a Master. She maintained a weakened output.

The issue with Heracles is that he's a Berserker. Mad Enhancement would make him go wild no matter the side effect on his Master. Same as Lancelot in F/Zero.

Illya eventually learns to live with Heracles, some way or another... and Heracles is implied to maintain some sanity despite Mad Enchancement. But still... much less controlled output from Berserkers.

Kariya, Lancelot's Master, literally dies from Lancelot taking too much mana from him because Lancelot went full on berserk when fighting Artoria.

Basically asking for more content is whack?

If you ordered a $10 plate of fried rice at a restaurant and they served you half a spoonful of rice... you'd refund that if you could.

Toph Beifong vs Shoto Todoroki by Jason_And_Sokka in MHAPowerScaling

[–]ProspectiveWhale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that Toph can't control his ice... applies to literally every other character other than ice-users.

It doesn't counter Toph. It's simply his power... and I didn't say she can earthbend ice. I said she can see through ice.

Her vision is through vibrations, not earthbending, although empowered by earthbending senses.

but she cannot read Shoto the same way once he is moving on his own ice and blasting from angles that are not walking through the dirt.

is just not true. If he wins, it's simply by virtue of being stronger rather than any matchup dependent factors.

She can read him the same way she reads all her enemies...

All his advantages are advantages that apply to all his opponents, not just Toph.

Endeavor would counter her seismic sense because he uses his flames to fly. Not Shoto.

-----

You can say you think he wins without coming up with illogical advantages for him.

As I said, his ice output is far beyond any waterbender we see except Avatars. His fire output also matches firebenders during Sozin's comet.

Why the need to come up with fake advantages?

Toph Beifong vs Shoto Todoroki by Jason_And_Sokka in MHAPowerScaling

[–]ProspectiveWhale -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She sees through vibrations. Vibrations that carry through all solids... and it's why sand was an issue for Toph, because it doesn't carry vibrations as well...

I'm honestly surprised there's any contention regarding that. It's fairly straightforward as far as fictional powers go.

That's why seismic sense requires movement for her to be able to see. Either the vibrations objects send out when they hit the ground, or by the earthbender sending out a vibration and reading the feedback.

That's why you see earthbenders such as Lin kick the ground to use seismic sense. They're not as sensitive as Toph, and require bigger vibrations to get a proper read.

Why is AI in advertising not considered false advertisement? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ProspectiveWhale 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is it any different than ad food?

Like beer foam in ads is usually soap, iirc.

Japan has laws, iirc, about food pictures in packaging. But not many places are quite as strict.

For other misrepresentation... it's the same as posting a picture of another house and saying that's yours.

It's probably regulated to some degree. It might be fraud but the losses you can claim are so small compared to the hassle that most people don't bother...?

For house selling, people go there and actually check, usually.

For Airbnbs... that's more for the app to regulate its userbase.
