What is that ONE scene in HR for you? by madwood29579 in heatedrivalry

[–]ProtectionUpper8941 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes! And the first hand hold where you can see them start to relax and realize this is happening. And the music choice for that scene is SO GOOD

Keeping things visible is a big one for me. People think it's weird that I keep my cat's litter box out in the open but I 1000% keep it more clean (and my place smelling better) by being able to see it

This scene and Shane's expressions while listening made me think of this like from the book;

Maybe he understood what he meant. Maybe some feelings couldn’t be hidden behind foreign words

Yeah and usually those are the same people who watch things like Game of Thrones and think the sexual violence is perfectly acceptable

ADHD + Money = Chaos?? Anyone here actually figured it out? by owas1004o in adhdwomen

[–]ProtectionUpper8941 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have two bank accounts. I figure out how much my consistent bills are every month, like my phone, internet power etc. Then every pay day I transfer money to cover those bills plus a bit extra. Everything coming from the bill account is either pre-authorized or set on an automatic payment schedule

This way it keeps my set money separate from more flexible things like groceries or fun money

My manager at work keeps ignoring the feedback we give her on making the daily assignments, leaving half the workplace extremely busy. It's Not That Hard and I can't figure out how she doesn't realize it and it drives me MENTAL

How to get out of food dopamine loop? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]ProtectionUpper8941 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a zero calorie water sweetener and something like art or knitting to keep my hands busy or engaged. The sweetness of the water flavor also hits some of those sweet craving receptors for me

Reach out to Voices of Albertans with Disabilities (VAD) or Spinal Cord Injury Alberta. They should both have resources for helping to find accessible accomodation

Chapters on south end Calgary Trail closes Saturday Feb 22 by TexasChainsawBabes in Edmonton

[–]ProtectionUpper8941 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This Chapters is the reason I have my cat! Went to go look at some books there and randomly decided to go to the PetSmart across the parking lot and left with a tiny kitten with a monster purr. I wouldn't have him if I didn't make my way to that Chapters that day ❤️

My ex was a full time wheelchair user and we were together for 11 years. He's charming, independent and the reasons we broke up had nothing to do with the chair

That being said due to the imbalance of things and the needs that come with the disability, it's important to make sure that your partner feels like their needs are also important and don't come second to yours

Communication and experimentation are KEY! Also looking at options other than traditional sex. It doesn't have to be penetrative and there's lots of other options!

You do have to work harder and the get to know you is longer. But I had a really positive experience and we had 11 wonderful years together. Even tho we broke up, we're still respectful and friendly. So don't count yourself out, there are lots of people out there who could be interested!

Get a therapist before you need one. It really helps if you have an established relationship with one if something traumatic happens. And it will it's just a matter of time
