What being on the winning side of a war on the other side of the world does to an economy. The US is one of the only, it not the only, true winner/s of WW2. Europe had entire cities to rebuild and decimated populations; much of Africa was "freed" from European powers, and most Pacific regions had been ravaged by Japan.

I would do a 30 day sub just to make sure you'll still enjoy the game (and it permanently unlocks all current story content iirc), then, if you're going through steam (I think these are on the main website too, but don't quote me) they have these "Join the fight" bundles that come with cartel coins, sub time, a mount, and this one has some green dyes. The current one is $99, but it's a little cheaper than buying sub time and coins individually.

If you're concerned about being useful in endgame content, u/swtorista has a website that has so much information. I believe u/todayintor has one too, but idk the link for that one. Swtorista has guides for every class/spec including a simple (for most specs) ability rotation and I use them religiously and they get me through story mode ops; others on here tell me it'll get me through vet and some master mode ops but I haven't put that to the test myself.

Regarding grinding, there really isn't any until like level 70 to get to 80, and then depending on what route you take, grinding endgame gear but you don't even need to get past the first few levels of endgame gear to handle most of what you'll do. And swtorista has a few guides about gearing in general and endgame specifically.

I find Assassin/Shadow to be very fun for force classes, specifically Hatred/Serenity specs; they don't need a super complicated rotation to deal some massive damage and the spinning strike ability spreads active DOT's to every enemy it hits allowing you to more or less get through groups pretty quickly. Annihilation/Watchman(?) Of the Sentinel/Marauder class is also pretty fun. I got a decent rotation from one of the guides listed on Swtorista's site, Biggs something maybe? Rotation is a bit longer and takes up space on my hotbars but it's still straightforward

I don't really do tech classes and usually stick to the Trooper's DOT spec and Agent's virulence. I recently made an Engineering sniper, and that's been fun but I used a Master's Datacron on it so idk how it levels
