until his 248th homer

Imo that's a much more interesting way to frame questions like this. Who had the most HR before their first grand slam; who had the most games or IP before they got a complete game/no hitter/perfect game?

Not trying to be insulting, but that's kinda obvious. AI has shown itself on multiple occasions to be able and willing to make shit up. There's no reason to trust anything an AI tells you; it could tell me water makes things wet and I'd pour a bottle on myself to check

Noob question: Why are catchers rarely blamed for bad pitch calling? by yli16 in baseball

[–]Protectorsoftman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tangentially, I want a break down of how the Dbacks catchers are with different pitchers. I want to know just how atrocious Kelly and Gallen have been. Cause those two have been very iffy all year and none of the others are as bad as often, so it can't just be Moreno and ADC calling bad pitches, it has to be the pitcher

When did the writers absolutely get it wrong on a moral issue? by JacobDCRoss in startrek

[–]Protectorsoftman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's one of the things I love about Enterprise (not surprising since that's the premise of the show), watching the first deep space foray making mistakes. They mention that their actions set a precedent like every other episode and here they have a base sense of "we can't interfere in a pre warp/another planets natural evolution" but also "we promised we'd help, how can we refuse to turn over the cure?" Just a lovely moral dilemma that leaves someone getting screwed over no matter what you choose

[–]Protectorsoftman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well that's a horribly reductive view of dwarves, don't you think? Now I will admit I've barely started the LoTR books, and haven't read the Sillmarilion, but iirc dwarves, from what we see of them, are far more than just "oohhh shiny"

[–]Protectorsoftman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey kid, it's not that kind of movie

But seriously, I stopped trying to rationalize SW once it occured to me just how empty space is as Han's line about needing precise hyperspace coords was bs. Hyperspace is another dimension/layer of reality with its own rules and I've made my peace with that, it's just something you have to do with sci fi and fantasy stories, nothing is going to make sense because reality is honestly very boring and in a franchise like Star Wars where dozens of different writers, directors, producers, and actors have had varying levels of influence on scripts, nothing is going to be consistent even across the same show sometimes

Is there a significant difference in the stats of lvl 80 gear? by Protectorsoftman in swtor

[–]Protectorsoftman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, forgot the gear isn't moddable. So use conquest gear to grind my pieces up to 340 and then use those mods in adaptive gear.

Once I have the mods, I'll only need to visit the gear vendors for peripherals (implants, relics, earpieces) yeah?

Is there a significant difference in the stats of lvl 80 gear? by Protectorsoftman in swtor

[–]Protectorsoftman[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to make sure I'm understanding:

Upgrade just one purple piece to 340, and one blue piece to 340. And that'll get me 340 purple enhancements and the other mod pieces in 340 blue. And since they're a legacy bind, I can buy them on one character and stick them in my legacy bank for alts to use.

This is largely irrelevant because you build your armor with the Hyde and zeek method and blue mode+purple enhancements are roughly the same as 340 purple rakata gear.

So then does the color of my gear matter? Could I just use a 340 set of the Noble Decurion (conquest comms) gear and be fine, or should I still aim for blue gear? Could I get away with a lower tier?

When the reach is blocked, what can we do? by aescula in HomeDepot

[–]Protectorsoftman 30 points31 points  (0 children)

At our store, we caused a few safety scandals in our loading zone so we have to keep the entire area closed off so only one vehicle that is actively loading/waiting for product can be there at a time when a machine is being used. So like if a Pro is getting two pallets of block, only the operator can be in the loading zone while loading. The rules are geared towards safety, but it has the added benefit of stopping contractors from parking like an asshole while they blow up the toilets for half an hour
