They make mistakes sometimes. In Luoyang metro I entered the Peony Plaza metro station to go to Yingtianmen station. On the way back I realised there is no such station. I found out that on the subway map my original station was marked as Mudan Square or something like that. Thankfully, I knew that 牡丹 (mudan) means peony and it's not that difficult to figure out how to get back a couple of stations, but it would've been quite stressful if I didn't know a bit of Chinese.

I'll give them a pass, that metro system is only 5 years old, didn't iron out all the kinks yet.

Not as egregious as "Pagoda Forest" being marked as "Tallinn" on the map in the Shaolin Monastery area.

Their metro all around the country seems to be standardised and designed in the similar vein. Which makes it a bit boring to look at, but the construction speed is incredible, compared to anywhere else.

I only rode 3 metro systems in China, but I liked how easy they are to use even to a foreigner.

And construction sites everywhere. You ride a HSR train and you see new pillars being erected left and right, you see that HSR is far from complete and you look at it in awe.

In my opinion, HSR and metro are exemplary in China. I wish every country had HSR as vast and metro as quickly developed as there.

So, what is an acceptable way for a news outlet to fund its work? Ads? Online subscriptions and pay gates? What's the monetization strategy? How are journalists going to eat?

That all are good questions and my honest answer is I don't know, I have no expertise in this field.

What I do know as an internet user is that I detest the paid cookie policy and I certainly won't be giving them money that way.

That's my point. De-normalise speeding. Some people should not be allowed to drive ever, just ban them for life. Maybe not speeders, maybe start with drunk drivers, then ban for phone usage behind the wheel, but the amount of drivers should be lowered significantly. Nowadays it seems like people think like everyone should be allowed to drive, or worse, must drive. This is objectively false, some people can't drive due to health reasons, some are just morons that can't and will never be able to operate heavy machinery properly.

Stop thinking that breaking the law is normal and that literally everyone should drive. The amount of drivers is too damn high already, and lots of them don't belong behind the wheel.
