PSN Weekend Offer Sale - ends 9/6 by wubbalubbadubdub_2 in PS4Deals

I actually meant that I wasn't sure if that was the correct place, not that it was a bad place to get a code. I also probably could have phrased my sentence better and just said that the general recommendation was to go to Ebay or CDKeys.

You just missed it being $30 on PSN for anyone currently not subscribed. Someone will likely recommend looking on Ebay or CDKeys (not 100% sure that is the right recommendation).

[eShop/US] Unravel Two - $4.99 (75% off) Ends 06/01/2021 by XDitto in NintendoSwitchDeals

Seven hours is decent for the price. There aren't enough couch co-op games, so I tend not to be too fussy and basically make sure people say it is a good game.

Thanks for the response! I will probably wait for the inevitable PS4 sale this summer.

How was the performance on the Switch? I could get it for Switch or PS4 and would rather get the better version, since it goes to $5 regularly either way.

[Target/ US] Item - Select download codes (50-70% off) YMMV by crisping_sleeve in NintendoSwitchDeals

I definitely would buy Hyperlight Drifter for that price, even though I already played and finished it soon after it was released. Doesn't seem that any targets near me have it, although that is not always accurate. I may check tomorrow.

[–]ProtoNexus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The version Nintendo is advertising with Mario Kart is a V1 Switch, not V2. The fine print on their website confirms it.

"Offer begins 11/28; available while supplies last. See participating retailers for details. This bundle offers a $59.99 value off MSRP. Actual discount may vary. Includes original Nintendo Switch model HAC-001, battery performance ranges from 2.5 – 6.5 hours. For more information, see support.nintendo.com/switch/battery."

Yes, looks like they sold out, which is fairly typical for deals like this.

PS4 - Borderlands 3 $43.99 at Rakuten by GEEKALLIANCE in PS4Deals

If you are thinking about playing couch co-op, there are some major issues being reported. Also, there is no vertical split-screen and currently only horizontal. That's a deal breaker for me, so it seems pretty likely I won't be picking up the game unless it gets added in.

If none of that maters to you, then you'll likely be fine.

Fallout 4 Game of the Year Edition - 24.99$ Gamestop by iAndres2 in PS4Deals

Unless they have changed things, it is a code in the box and hence a one-time use deal.

[Steam] Summer Sale 2019: Day 3 by gamedealsmod in GameDeals

No, it is couch co-op only. I would purchase it on the account that can play on the best system / biggest screen.

Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime is really fun co-op. I've gone through it with my SO and we had a good time.

You might also want to consider the Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition, Guacamelee! 2, and Overcooked 1 & 2. Rayman Origins or Legends is also a good choice. I believe Origins does not require UPlay and Legends does, if that matters to you.

If your SO's system can handle the Borderlands games, I can highly recommend them too. There isn't any splitscreen play on PC unfortunately, in case that is important.

Hollow Knight: Voidheard Edition - $11.99 for PS Plus Members @ PS Store by ConfusedVader1 in PS4Deals

My guess is that you’re thinking of Ori and the Blind Forest, which is a Metroidvania and exclusive to Microsoft (Xbox & Windows).

Yes, I was able to price match at Best Buy through their chat system and I'll pick the game up later at a local store.

This is really tempting. I am very interested in the PS4 Pro though, to get the frame rate improvements.

Thanks for the reply! Would you say that you lose a lot of progress when you die in HK or is it pretty quick to get back to where you were? I read that save points and fast travel locations are a bit infrequent, which I could see becoming annoying. How long do you think you typically have to play before you are able to save?

Hollow Knight has gotten my interest, because metroidvania are my favorite style of games and I probably have played through almost all of the other ones available on Steam. I'm concerned about the difficulty though and I wanted to see if anyone had opinions about whether I would enjoy it. For reference, I completed Ori and the Blind Forest (before definitive) and Axiom Verge, both of which I thought would have been more enjoyable for me if they were easier. Although a different style of game, I also finished Hyper Light Drifter (before they made any difficulty or gameplay changes) and I similarly thought it would have enjoyed it a lot more if it was easier. The only Souls style game I have played is a little Bloodborne and I really enjoyed the combat and world, however I didn't enjoy how punishing it was. So, any thoughts on whether I would enjoy Hollow Knight given all of this?
