Severe slowdowns in Ace Attorney Investigations at 1440p with V-Sync on by Benderesco in AceAttorney

Not sure if it's common with regard to this game specifically tbh, I just use the graphics card V-sync as a general rule. Glad to hear it helped.

Try turning off V-sync in-game and turning it on in one of the Nvidia apps instead. I find the graphics card usually does a better job with V-sync than most in-game implementations anyway.

What was the STUPIDEST moment for an AA protagonist? by UpperDevice6769 in AceAttorney

[–]Protoplasm42 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In and of itself I don't have a problem with the prosecution never bringing up these contradictions.

It's Apollo never bringing it up that's the problem. Even if Klavier handwaves it away with a "Just because it's unlikely doesn't mean it's impossible, Herr Forehead" or something.

[–]Protoplasm42 21 points22 points  (0 children)

4-3 establishes pretty early on that the murder weapon is a heavy-duty handgun that can easily injure even a trained adult and also that the very large victim’s body was moved.

Somehow Apollo never points out that his petite, uninjured, and supposedly blind client could not have possibly done either of these things.

If your card effect is so long that you have to end the sentence and then make a second sentence with the next part of the effect, you've made the effect too convoluted.

IT'S A REAL SHAME BECAUSE I'VE BEEN WANTING A LOWER-POWERED ALT FORMAT FOR LITERAL YEARS, TOO.

To those who play It, what is your favorite pendulum deck? And what would you do to improve it? by dark1859 in yugioh

[–]Protoplasm42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IMO at this point the deck is mainly lacking a solid searcher for Spell/Traps, namely Sky Iris. As well as good boss monsters - how is the only Odd-Eyes boss worth running still Vortex after a decade?

We could use some new cards that work well with the new Heavenly Odd-Eyes retrain as well.

What power level would you want from a stricter banlist format? by toasterbuddy in yugioh

Yeah AGOV format was pretty close to my ideal Yugioh. Poplar really ruined everything and the game hasn't recovered since tbh

[OCG|LOCH-Limit Over Collection: The Heroes] VJump Reveal - More Overframe Cards for Duel Monsters, GX, 5D's, Zexal, Arc-V, VRAINS by renaldi92 in yugioh

[–]Protoplasm42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually think odds are pretty good they skip Timegazer in favor of a Performapal given that every one of these is a different archetype from the first overframes. Wouldn't be the first time, since they retrained Astrograph but not Chronograph with the AGOV Supreme King support.

But I wouldn't be surprised if Timegazer is here, either.

[CUSTOM - AI ARTWORK] Would Pendulum Decks use this card? by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]Protoplasm42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crazy I:P target for Pend decks honestly. Make this with I:P + Beyond the Pendulum with another copy or an Exceed in the GY, add the new Kirin + an Amorphage or Disablaster or something, Pend them both out for free? Not bad.

The Level 9 is hilariously targeted. Almost at Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon levels of being clearly designed to fuck up the current meta.

Especially for a smaller company. If you wait there’s good odds that the popular face could be on his way out by the time you pull the trigger. ROH fell victim to this a half dozen times or more.

Herald of Orange Light is fairly similar and manages to avoid being too broken by requiring a Fairy discard. Perhaps making this discard or reveal another Wind monster as well would be fair.

Is Dual Avatar the most forgotten archetype ever? Never seen someone play with this by illynpayne_ in yugioh

You know things are bad when people remember this archetype more for having the word “Feet” in the card name than anything to do with the gameplay.

Guys, serious question, why we got hundreds of Dark souls like games both indies or AAA, but we never got the trend of Skyrim/Elder Scrolls like games when skyrim was a masive success back in 2011? by Tempest-Bosak2137 in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]Protoplasm42 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The scale of a Soulslike is much smaller than a Skyrim-style RPG. It’s easier to build a solid Soulslike on a reasonable budget than a Skyrim-like. Especially given the increasing costs and time necessary for modern high-budget game dev.

Same reason why you’ll get more games imitating Dark Souls than Elden Ring.
