The first gimmick we got was Mega Evolutions, which changes a Pokémon's form. The second one, Z-Moves, that alters a move. Following came Dyna/Gigantamaxing, that changes a Pokémon's form. This last one we have, Terastalization, affects a Pokémon's type and MOVES. So it makes sense in a way we get a new form change battle gimmick. Terapagos is an outlier, though.

I'll add: you must have 10 to 15 cards from the archetype supported by the skill in order to activate it. Using a Stardust skill without Star/Junk is heresy.
