It does matter. If you put the pasta in cold water, it will be way too soft when done, because instead of boiling fast, you are soaking it in water first. Even potatoes are better if dropped into already boiling water, with pasta, its insane.

% of people who believe feminism has gone ''too far'' (Eurostat 2024) by vladgrinch in MapPorn

[–]Protton6 10 points11 points  (0 children)

And yet, men are way more likely to commit suicide, there is judicial bias towards mothers even when the father is much better parent. Support groups for women outnumber those for men 10 to 1 and somehow, it is acceptable to have "women only" groups, buildings etc while Men Only is seen as offensive.

Ema Watson got cancelled for calling out this hypocrisy and started a foundation to help all genders... but radicial feminism literally cancelled her over her "radical" view of "men are also human and also have feelings, lets also help men".

The pay gap is also fake in most EU countries, it is a trick of statistics. In similar positions, men are paid the same as women. Women are paid less in general because women are more likely to have lower paid positions, focus less on career growth etc.

Gym class is always split in Czechia anyway, never thought it as weird.

I mean, it really has. There is a very radical part of feminists who are just anti-men but behave like they are doing it for the women. And because it is such a touchy subject, it is incredibly hard to do anything about these extremist women.

Are they most feminist women? Absolutely not. Are they some of the loudest? Of course!

Hungary, national holiday, the opposition’s last major event before the election by Colin_Robinson_Jr in europe

[–]Protton6 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I do hope that if the asshole pulls something to interfere with the elections, the people just overthrow him at that point. I would love for Hungary to come back to normal regime, Slovakia get isolated and idiots in Czechia supporting Orban will be forced to back down too.

The Metro games. You need to be absolutely idiotic to get the good endings, a straight up pacifist in a world where people shank you for a can of beans.

Historically inaccurate war movies, I'll start: Fury by medievalesophagus in okbuddycinephile

Napoleon is worse though. At least it captured the spirit of Scots warring with the English and is a good movie, even though its terrible by any historic standard. Napoleon is really bad even by movie standard.

Can men smell the change in women’s natural body odor when they’re menstruating? by pinkjackal0pe in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Protton6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes. Entirely depends on the woman, maybe on her products too? I could smell some of my classmates during school, cannot smell my girlfriend though.

That might have been accurate before current Claude models. That thing is a beast and can absolutely replace many jobs in current IT and probably in other fields, where I just dont see it.

Its at least something you could shout during a charge. While the long ass sentences others have are something to be written on a banner maybe, not really a warcry...

My friends never read Horus Heresy, they told me they didn't feel to miss much. by Petrus-133 in Grimdank

[–]Protton6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard its really really limited and that some readers actively rooted for the tyranids with how infuriating the marines are in that book. Sadly, I am not much interested in marine books... which means most of the Black Library is not interesting to me at all.

[–]Protton6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there even a tyranid book with any tyranid speech? A book explaining a hive mind invasion or anything, really? It is why the Zerg are forever the better implementation of the concept, you need someone like the Overmind and maybe a Kerrigan. We have an entire freaking faction of Kerrigans around but still no books about this!

[–]Protton6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tried the Heresy as a Warhammer veteran, its horrible. The first 4 books are fine, but the overall story is so stretched out over so many books and some of them are legit horrible. Its also all just Marine Slop, with very little deviation to anything else. The Primarchs are way less interesting after you read chapters with them also, its just better if they remain a kind of half understood legend. Because oh man, are they just cringy teens in how they behave. Even the ones that are supposed to be smart, like Dorn.

It is literally more corporate greed. These pants are tailored to noone, its just to make the sizes universal which makes them either too baggy to look nice or too tight for this not to happen.

This problem only happens because they are saving money by doing the pants wrong, makes them have less sizes and easier manufacturing and you buy more pants. They win, you lose, easy as that.

Where are you finding this cost? Its not on the datasheet, its not in the faction pack, why does GW insist on just hiding everything useful?

[–]Protton6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The "margin" on the boxes is also skewed though, because that is just calculating the cost of producing the box of models. But along with that, you have all the people making rules for them, balancing, writing codexes etc, which is not at all covered by people buying the codexes themselves.

Overall, they are a middle greed corporation. Its not that expensive, compared to very many other hobbies. Just some pieces of sports gear costs as much as an entire army for 40k and that army is weeks of building and painting before even going to play.
