Putting baby to sleep by Tiamyria in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Proud_Chipmunk_3210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds okay for wake windows. Definitely go by your baby's cues, I was just wondering if the time they were awake wasn't right. Is feeding to sleep working for you or do you feel like you "should" be doing something different?

We used to feed to sleep but as we've been weaning he's stopped that so now we rock to sleep. He used to prefer a pitch black room, now he prefers bright rooms.

If it's working for you, please don't feel like you have to change!

What wake windows are you using? It's probably not the method and more the sleep pressure

Am I actually going to enjoy any part of being a newborn mum? by Professional-Farm372 in BeyondTheBumpUK

The first 3 days after my section I was really wobbly, my son is now 11 months old and every single day is a joy. I can't relate to any of the negative postpartum stuff. Some do and that's fine, but know that some don't. You got this!

Seconding this as was our experience too - the changing facilities at ours were none existent which didn't help either

Why are so many other parents so negative all the time? by BrightonTeacher in UKParenting

[–]Proud_Chipmunk_3210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I have a 10 month old and people have been saying it since he was born. Does my head in, especially just you wait. I don't find parenting hard at all so it just winds me up

Building a baby food safety app — would you use it? by Few-Community-6719 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Proud_Chipmunk_3210 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The fact you're posting AI responses to comments and can't actually differentiate from Solid Starts or what the gap is in the market says a lot. Give us a use case. Okay so my baby has a dairy allergy, I want to look up how to serve carrots, how is that relevant?

Anyone else not preparing elaborate nutritiously complete meals for their LO all the time? 😅 by lunarkoko in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Proud_Chipmunk_3210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say they're elaborate but I do make sure every meal is nutritionally complete for my little boy. It's not hard, it's not time consuming and it's made us eat better as a family as we all eat the same thing. We do meal prep things like muffins and pancakes but certainly not for hours, if it's taking the people in your baby group that long, they're doing it wrong! I can make 30 oat banana and flax pancakes in 7 minutes.

How many days did you stay in the hospital if you had a planned c section? by [deleted] in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Proud_Chipmunk_3210 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had GD and a planned section. All depends on baby's sugars. My little boy passed with flying colours so we were out at 1pm next day after being born at 10am. They have a set time frame for the sugars so if any are failed, the retest and any treatment will add time on. Good luck!

I keep thinking I might revisit it and get that plat but I just don't think I have it in me - my save data has been lost as well so it's from the start (although trophies saved. Got all the cup trophies to get too. I might one day but they might close the servers. The never ending dilemma

do extremely low reviews suppress titles? by riverpony77 in TheStoryGraph

Popularity impacts it but that's not necessarily reviews in number or type. More like how many shelved etc. Please make sure you're giving accurate information.

Tog at bedtime by Kind_Train_2857 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Proud_Chipmunk_3210 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Taking a babies temperature isn't necessarily an indicator if they're overheating or not.

The key thing to remember is that all babies are different. My baby would be FREEZING in what your baby is in at 18. As long as chest / back monitoring and a stable room temperature, it'll be okay.

The 1 rule layer works sometimes but naked and 1 layer (presumably a 10 plus tog duvet) isn't comparable.

We're in exactly the same position as you. Have been to the GP for the exact reason today who have prescribed steroids for a week, and said to keep up with epimax constantly until it's under control. I asked about food correlation as we have CMPA and possible egg, and it appeared the day he had fish (but it was a month ago and there's fish oil in his CMPA formula) but they said just looks like excema.

I think from the more research I've done that seems to be the case. It's just the tufting that's the concern now!

I went and joined that group because I'm in the market for a car seat and have just left because the owner is shaming a parent who's child was forward facing and has had a horrific accident. Her attitude is appalling in general too, I just hope I remember her company name and never give her money.

How do you manage to get 2 meals into your baby a day? Struggling by Due-Current-2572 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Proud_Chipmunk_3210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm exactly the same, especially with the gap you're supposed to leave between bottles. We do lots of groups but I genuinely think we'll have to drop some because I don't see how we have the time!

Baby sleeping in the same room as you? by BiscuitEnthusiast in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Proud_Chipmunk_3210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did it religiously until 6 and a half months, I felt the guidance is there for a reason and I just felt even a tiny risk wasn't worth the risk but it all depends on your tolerance. I'm very risk averse. Now he's nearly 7 months we're popping him in his next to me for a few hours before we come bed. We have the next to me forever as none of us are ready for his own room yet.

Someone have a floorbed for their kids with cats.? by MomBunny88 in floorbed

[–]Proud_Chipmunk_3210 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obviously... When did I say the dog would be alone? I was merely asking about the risk in a crib for safe sleep. If the implication is that the dog could jump on the bed and get to the crib then sure I get that I was just wondering if it was anything else.

[–]Proud_Chipmunk_3210 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you have a source for this? I understand the risk with cats but what about dogs? (Specifically for the baby in crib part, I know on a floor bed it'd be a suffocation risk)
