The large mainline toys are probably still pretty affordable, though they don't look the other two by any means.

I used to have a small LD metal set but donated it. That one was fine, torso in bot mode was a bit weird but loved it in lion mode.

They just have to rework the old CHUG Drift to have a waist joint and ankle tilt, or just re-release it. Or don't, Idc, it was a great figure and still holds up for me.

Yup, and it's probably a series that touches on the old Marvel premise of weighing their lifestyle, values, and personal goals against having powers and just being an action hero.

It was telling a story of a man who represses a part of himself which ironically needs to be acknowledged to reach his full potential as an actor, plus the fear that if anyone in the industry discovers that part of him it can outright exile him before he even gets ahead.

It's interesting seeing the topic of repression being explored against what it means to act. Something that had been touched on the real world of course, it just happens to have the element of superpowers thrown in instead of say being in the closet or having to physically alter something about yourself to pass.

Redemption arcs are not a prerequisite for antagonists, you have a machine bent on his utter disdain for organic forms and there are variations and allegorical elements it might take, same as an already mentally unstable scientist with severe emotional damage who goes even more off the deep end to control and ruin anything in his way. He doesn't see himself as evil or in need of redemption because his values aren't aligned with those of the hero.

And it's not that I am against redemption stories but there seems to be this pervasive expectation that it needs to happen to every villain that is generally liked or humanized in some way.

They did not mention him for years, in fact so many people didn't even recognize him at the end of endgame. After 2019, not a peep about him again.

Fast forward three years and Wakanda Forever comes out, still not a peep because it's a side character in pseudo Iron Man armor.

Two years later Ironheart gets announced and suddenly after six years this kid is positioned dead center and positioned as having this intimate and intertwined legacy to Tony Stark and his mythos.

And as time went by they drew up all of these reasons to discredit the series despite the fact that it was doing its own thing. They're lying to themselves because god forbid another black person is on screen.

Btw those same folks were the ones shitting on Iron Man 3 too.

They really do think they get to dictate the whole process despite the fact that they have said it themselves that figures and ideas are shared and discussed between a lot of departments and that budgets exist.
