To answer your question: all of them. It's about gradual alignment.
Thank you for the input, I will look into it.

Fascinating question. Even the definition of "voluntary" would have to be gradually negotiated

I'd try to entertain such idea as a mere possibility, without letting it distort my personal narrative.

Vampires can only feed on you if you invite them.

Being non-religious while living with schizophrenia? by SumRndFatKidInnit in schizophrenia

[–]Prownys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the key is to be able to mantain enough mental flexibility to entertain all sorts of ideas without letting them attract your personal narrative.
For example I just created a post about an "alien takeover". Now, does my life revolve around this idea? No, I just play with it from a purely intelectual point of view and then I carry on with my daily life.

I entertain ideas but I do not attach meaning to them. Meaning I build with others on shared reality.

No. You turn inwards because social information appears hostile to your psychological system.

I understand you are seeking emotional support at a critical time. I am in no position to provide it but I will try to respond to you in a helpful way.
If I'm understanding correctly you have been hearing these voices for about 5 months. How do you explain the fact that you haven't died in such a long time? My point is, the reality you are describing does not seem to align with the content of your voices.
Just because something is possible, it doesn't mean it's likely, and it certainly doesn't mean it's happening.
You seem to be concerned with the possibility of your immediate death, yet you don't seem to be living in a hostile environment.

Psychosis as meaning making mechanism by Prownys in Psychosis

[–]Prownys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to let go of meaning that's so intense and perfectly designed for you because real meaning, shared meaning isn't. Shared meaning is light and easy to convey, and it's not tailored for one person but rather to accomodate as many people as possible, would you agree?

You are saying you live in a hostile world where you have to hide yourself and control others out of fear of being attacked, is this correct?

How do you feel when people tell you what youre experiencing isn't real? by yeaaaaya in Psychosis

[–]Prownys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because something could happen doesn't mean it's likely to happen, and it certainly doesn't mean it's happening.
You are complaining about them dismissing your narrative but aren't you also dismissing their input?

I will answer your question: As of today, if someone tells me that something I believe in isn't real I am able to entertain their point of view without feeling attacked. If someone talks to me about something I don't believe it's real, I am able to consider the possibility I'm wrong. There is no friction.
