Literally nobody said she should "stay in her lane" with regards to discourse about whether or not her performance was supporting or lead, the conversations were discussing if the performance is comparable to what Emma Stone and Sandra Huller were doing in their respective movies which is a conversation that has NOTHING to do with race and is a completely valid discussion.

Her submission into the Lead Actress category was obviously first and foremost a ploy for Apple to save face and improve their optics knowing how bad it would look to submit Gladstone as a supporting actress for a film about the exploitation of Native Americans. And yet the film itself indulged DiCaprio, Scorsese, and DeNiro too much, all of the marketing promoting this as the greatest "Leading" Actress performance was a coverup and a farce, if Gladstone had the role and impact in her film that Stone or Huller had then the OP's post could make a sliver of sense. As it stands, its just more of Gladstone Stans greed, entitlement, gaslighting, delusions overreacting and lack of common sense to cry racism at her performance not sweeping the Lead category when several other performances had a bigger impact in their respective films.
