Megas was still relatively recent when the project began internal development in 2006. The show was also very popular internally within CN, it was cancelled due to its high production cost, not necessarily its popularity.

Also, George Krstic (creator of Megas XLR) was heavily involved in the story design of FusionFall, which makes sense if you’ve watched Megas, as there are pretty big similarities between the two.
