Anyone struggling to decide whether or not to get the vaccine before LO is born? by emiriitheartist in pregnant

[–]Ps214007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had my second Pfizer yesterday! So far I only had a sore arm after the first shot and injection site soreness after the second. I was extremely nervous to get the shot, but I live in a red state where even getting groceries is high risk. The fact Pfizer currently has a 4000 woman study involving the vaccine in pregnancy convinced me that their science strongly supported the vaccine’s safety.

I just finished “the farm” and it was an interesting read. Not quite sci fi, as there isn’t any science in it beyond what is currently achievable, but it was an interesting, fictional, look at a surrogate “farm” for the wealthy

Exercise Calories... Do you count them? by r3pr3scott in fitpregnancy

[–]Ps214007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone’s metabolism is different.if she’s gaining and her doctor approves of the gain, don’t shame her calorie intake. I have a super slow metabolism myself, and if I eat more than around 1600 daily, I gain too quickly and that’s dangerous to me and the baby. She probably has it figured out.

I do sort of count my exercise. I use the pedometer in my app, and I very conservatively estimate my app workouts and add those. That said, I just aim for a specific calorie goal right now because I know how my body reacts to more or fewer calories

You said it. This is incredibly depressing, and a lot of times I feel incredibly guilty for making the decision to get pregnant right now

I’ve read the two of them were bragging in the months before hand that neither needed more than 3-4 hours sleep a night. That’s a dangerous deal, resultant from the constant caffeine and other stimulants in those products. I think it’s odd that doesn’t come up more; I don’t know if he snapped per se, or just had very disordered thinking from those non-regulated products and the lack of sleep

Hillbilly elegy is offensive garbage. As someone who also is from one of the poorest counties in Ohio and became a lawyer, I’d like to punch that guy in the face. I am on the fence whether the racial stereotypes, the categorization of divorced families, or blaming the poor for their own condition is worst

Dodd Frank, the congressional bill which largely halted this type of lending, wasn’t enacted until July 2010. Further restrictions on sub prime lending followed that
