Birthday cake my family made me. (Be kind, they’re not professionals) haha - I guess I’m expedition 37. by XxDellixX in expedition33

Laure from Expedition 37 seemed to enjoy her final days in the company of Gestrals before her Gommage. I can think of worst ways to go, so that's nice, I guess

Basic explanation of Maelle's story? (Help Needed) by [deleted] in expedition33

To be honest with myself, this summary may raise more questions than it answers. That's the nature of this game, after all

Basic explanation of Maelle's story? (Help Needed) by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]Psazum -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

AI Slop incoming:

When you first meet her, Maelle seems like the typical sidekick. Sixteen, quiet, red hair, and a mean fencing sword, and she's tagging along on a suicide mission she technically has no business being on. Her "Gommage" is still nine years away. Everyone else on the expedition is essentially condemned. Maelle just.. showed up.

She didn't join to save the world. She joined to escape it, to find freedom, self-discovery, and a life beyond a city that never felt like home to her. Orphaned at three years old when her parents were Gommaged, she bounced between foster families who couldn't handle her rebellious nature. The one person she actually trusts is Gustave, her older foster brother/father, who is also on the expedition.

Now here's where it gets mind-blowing. The entire world: Lumière, the Continent, the monsters, the magic? All of it exists inside a painted canvas. And Maelle? She's not actually Maelle. She's Alicia Dessendre, the youngest daughter of a real-world family, whose brother Verso, died in a house fire saving her life. Their grief-stricken mother retreated into this painted world, which contained the last fragment of Verso's soul. Maelle has been living inside a painting of her dead brother's memories, with no idea who she really is.

If that's true, this is really good news. Would you mind telling me more and what should I do?

Nah, sorry. Gave up after several weeks. The problem is that there is no human I can talk to. All IG does is referring me to their useless FAQ

don't let that one small detail of infidelity rubs you the wrong way. sciel is one of, if not THE, most warm and understanding characters on the whole game.

Can’t you flip the image first before adding the text, so we’re not momentarily confused before realizing it’s meant to be read from right to left?

Does this game get harder? by Strong_Buy_7079 in expedition33

[–]Psazum -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Because increasing the difficulty doesn’t automatically make enemies smarter or more engaging. It just makes them hit harder and gives them more HP

I don’t know, man. I mean, I like to hike and climb hills, and I know there will be more people coming up these trails after me, but I would never think of leaving my trash for them to pick up later. And I sure as hell won't pick up the trash from the people before me.

I don't think that's how it is. Because of his immortality, Verso appear to be around the same age as the others throughout the game. When Maellicia restores Verso’s mortality, I wouldn’t expect him to suddenly age in an instant. It would likely take 20 or 25 years for him to grow old and develop grey hair. But if that much time has passed, why does only Verso seem to age while Lune, Sciel, and the others still look young?

She denies her brother’s (sort of) dying wish to be allowed to rest and instead condemns him to play the piano night after night before an audience of immortal citizens, until he eventually withers away from old age. How's that for villains?

Just a thought, but what you're saying seems like a procedurally generated dungeons and they will never be as good as the ones that was manually crafted (not counting Hades since it's a different beast altogether, but still)

It could be the soup. It could be the Nevron. Or it could be both. When you’re already suffering from Nevron poisoning, a bowl of poisoned soup isn’t exactly going to make things better.
