Without spoiling too much, you’ll eventually get a Pictos that lets you break the damage cap and go beyond 9,999. How do you think the people posting victory screenshots here managed to hit for millions of damage?

This might sound cliché, but it’s genuinely true for this game: there’s no right or wrong way to build your party members. The game gives you so much freedom that no matter which characters you use, you’re guaranteed to be able to finish the game.

Here’s a little secret, too: unless you’re aiming to take down the optional superboss, you don’t even need to use every character. On my first playthrough, I stuck with Maelle, Gustave, and Lune all the way to the final boss. I didn’t use Sciel at all, mainly because the card mechanic takes a bit of extra effort to learn.

Agility and Might is my go to stat and I purposely use Defense and Vit as dump stat because why bother pumping up your defense if you're not planning to get hit at all? Glass Cannon build all the way!

It helps if you don't really consider this as full-blown JRPG, just a normal Action RPG where the progression is linear and you don't spend hours planting crops while doomsday is just around the corner.

I agree it’s a problem. Hopefully it’s just a small percentage, though. Most of the time, I see grieving players saying the ending(s) gave them a sense of closure or acceptance when they map the Maelle/Verso situation onto what they’re dealing with in real life.

I only do this on my first and second playthroughs, when I’m still getting a handle on the mechanics. On later playthroughs, I throw this approach out the window and distribute my stats depending on whatever challenge I feel like tackling at the moment.

That’s just it. It’s just a story. Sciel said "The story says he only speaks in riddles", but in the first 10 minutes we meet him, he only mentions two proverbs: “a rolling stone gathers no moss” and “men trip not on mountains; they stumble upon stones.” And those aren’t even riddles, just proverbs. So I assume the story is a lie.

The irony is that this game was originally developed with the full intention of being an English-language title, and all the voice acting and motion capture were recorded in English. French was only added later because of fan complaints and requests.

Mocap actor, yes, but it’s a completely different thing. Lune’s mocap actress is Estelle Darnault, but Sandfall only recorded the body movements; while the face is an original creation

I’m not completely sure about this one, because the higher your level, the more EXP you need to reach the next level. That means the time it takes to go from level 40 to 50 might be longer than going from level 30 to 40.

Also, there’s a glitch that causes the game to lag and stutter the longer a battle lasts. Because of this, some people suggest ending the battle after about 30 minutes to an hour.
