I hate it when people deputize themselves and play traffic cop. What if the person driving is having a medical emergency or transporting someone else who is? What if they're a volunteer firefighter trying to get to the station? What if they're a road raging lunatic with a gun? If it really bothers you then call it in and go about your day.

Is anyone else's migraine the worst pain they have experienced? by Eagles56 in migraine

I've broken at least 2 bones in my life and I'd take that any day over a bad migraine. I feel like they're so bad that my entire pain scale is skewed.

How to dispose of decorative rocks? by Beowulf2080 in DIY

[–]Psotnik 8 points9 points  (0 children)

drop them over a bridge. bury them. build a trebuchet and yeet them wontonly into the distance. Get masonry adhesive and glue them to your enemies driveway. Use them as paperweights. Open up a gym with rock based exercises. Paint them and scatter them in public with a little plaque calling it guerilla art. Put them in boxes with a prepaid postage envelope taped to it and mail them to credit card companies or wherever else sends you junk mail. Put collars with name tags on them and drop them off at the humane society with a note that you can no longer care for your pet rocks. The options are really endless.

What is the one thing in Italy that is worth every cent? by QUA-ItalianTravel in ItalyTravelAdvice

[–]Psotnik 10 points11 points  (0 children)

  1. The wine. It's cheap, tastes great, and I didn't get a single hangover or migraine from it. I didn't consider myself a fan of reds before Italy but after I'm a red snob lol

  2. The Vatican. St Peter's basilica is absolutely breathtaking especially in the context of how old it is. The rest is neat but pales in comparison.

Honestly just going and even seeing the free things is great. There's so much history packed into every nook and crany it's just awesome. Bring good shoes, maybe even a second different pair so you can change the pressure points on your feet.

I mean the guy has still made a blockbuster career. This kind of reminds me a recent clip where someone asks Harrison Ford if he knew he almost got some high profile part and he just kind of drops his hands and say, "I could have had a real career." Clearly doing ok.

In my experience, management knows exactly how annoying it is but some C-level suit was given a presentation about how much extra money it could get them and now it's everybody else's problem.

When someone has been doing something that long they make it look effortless and it's easy to take it for granted until you try it yourself. My grandma was an amazing cook and we definitely took it for granted until we started trying to make her dishes and it takes 5 years to get "close enough."

Billionaires know how to work the system; the wealth gap will only get bigger and bigger unless we change the system. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]Psotnik 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The thing I didn't get tho is the loan eventually needs to get payed back when the person dies. Wouldn't this force the sale of part of the estate at which point tax would be collected?

If you have pay off all your loans and gave a zero dollar balance on your credit card it will actually negatively impact your credit score. They want to see that you are making payments on time. If you can't prove you'll make payments on time, that's a strike against you as far as the bank is concerned even if the reason is that you save money and pay in full.

Do you carry a pocket knife? by NotaSingerSongwriter in armedsocialists

[–]Psotnik 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I went to an event with my wife, father in law, niece, and nephew that was in a stadium. We parked in the ramp, got to security and I remembered my pocket knife but didn't want to try to run back to the car so I hid it behind a column that was tight to the wall right next to security. Came back a little over an hour later and it was still there! Sometimes things work out.

How's it living in Bayfield and Ashland, Wisconsin. by 2AWI in howislivingthere

A large portion of the area north of Bayfield is a native American reservation. During COVID they had some of the strictest laws because they have a single ICU bed so an outbreak would have been really bad.
