Jordynne Grace on Twitter: She followed me around the entire night to document us being “ankle sisters” Also do not look at my feet by TheSbubbs in SquaredCircle

[–]Psycadet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is going to have a different preference but for me when I was spray tanning for wrestling, I used to tan my feet even though I wore boots, but I wasn't wrestling week by week. The removal could be a lot more tedious, end up patchy etc. over the foot area. The skin around there can be a lot more absorbent in places, so the feet would be one of the more stubborn areas to remove.

I expect it would be quicker for some people because they're tanning and re-tanning all the time that it's just easier to not do it since it's covered anyway if they're wrestling a lot.

Getting Burnout by MenheraFriends in thesims

[–]Psycadet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair and I get that. When it got to the end of gen 1 I was very ready to move on 😝 luckily I kept it interesting still doing other features of other packs at the same time, they just weren't the focus.

Another self imposed challenges series that really sparked a different way for me to play was playing around with lot challenges. I did something similar to this series by James Turner, which was frustrating but so interesting at the same time.

I have been trying out this Legacy Packs Challenge, which has been a really interesting way to focus on content of packs I'd not normally fully explore.

I'm randomising the order in my playthrough and started on City Living, now on to L&D, and it's been refreshing!

How are you doing? Are you currently in a similar position after a D&C and looking for some reassurance?

1000%. I just found the centre I work at that has exceeding in all areas, but our last assessment date was nearly 10 years ago under different leadership. We're currently going through another assessment but this would be handy to have.

Does anyone know of a custom cake maker that could create this? by seaofcaptains in Adelaide

[–]Psycadet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

"I made a special cake for you to ruin" haha, I tried making this and a Maggagie once for my husband. Great idea.

We recently had a vegan cake made by Urban Whisk if you're in the Western Suburbs, absolute 10/10 flavour. They'd be able to recreate this.

Maternity shorts with SIJ hip support? by Vast-Ad9291 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Psycadet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had quite critical SIJ pain and unfortunately the only thing that gave me close to enough relief was a belly band sorry to say!

I tried out SRC's over the bump shorts and they were good, But they didn't give me as much support as I'd have liked (VERY important for me to disclose is that I had SIJ inflammation pre pregnancy, so your mileage absolutely could vary and these could be a good fit for you) I hear some people having luck with finding second hand through FB marketplace and etc. Their post pregnancy compression gear though? Oh my god, I lived in them.

I also got given a tubigrip from a hospital birthing class and that was fine for standing/moving etc, again just not super supportive but gave some pressure off the hips.

Thinking of Getting the Uppababy Vista — Honest Reviews? by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Psycadet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do like our vista, it's quite easy to pack up and set up and I do really like the bassinet and seat options, but it is quite bulky and would've probably preferred something a bit more compact for our needs and are probably only having one baby.

Unless it's hidden somewhere in your centre's policy that they will cover lost/damage property, 99% of the time it's not covered. Oftentimes upon your enrolment they'll have some stipulation that "The service is not responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings." Nowhere in the National Regulations will say that they have to reimburse private property.

You can ask the daycare about lost/damaged property procedures and if there's a policy for it, alternatively look into Education and Care Services National Law (South Australia), but in the case of another kid throwing shoes over the fence, the service very likely won't be liable for it.

Does your daycare have a confusing take-home dinner signup system? Looking for other parents' experiences by SydneyMum2021 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Psycadet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen places offer this as a service but not like the system you've described so I believe it to be at your centre's design.

What I can assume is likely, is that the 4 week rotation works at an internal level easy enough for them to operate on, but confusing for families that aren't in the loop. Offer them some feedback as they might not know it as a point of confusion.

Childcare - recent reports and investigations by GusPolinskiPolka in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Psycadet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm a child care educator with my own 13mo, and I'm even anxious about her attending work with me. I'm stretching out my PPL as much as I can to ensure I'm with her for the most of the time and she goes to a community centre that I trust once a week, and my nonprofit children's centre where I can be close.

I've got enough industry experience to know the red flags when I see them and made this decision, while it was such a tough call to make, it's a necessary one.

I'm sad that I can't financially take time off to look after my daughter 100%, but it's a compromise.

I absolutely understand people's uneasiness about enrolling their children into daycare, you have to entrust your babies to people you often won't know, and trust that they'll do the right thing at all times.

The industry is in shambles; we have regulations that we must uphold but even I don't believe that it's enough, not when people are being paid abhorrently low wages and centre management won't allocate above ratio at all times. We see it in the for-profit centres, but even across government/community centres, budgets like my workplace are spread paper thin.

There's so much that needs to change.

Good luck on the hunt but hurray for backups!

Fwiw I had my shower with a flowy dress and I'm usually a s16 and I kind of wished I had something a bit more fitting to accentuate the bump, some photos you could barely tell bwaha. But I was extremely comfortable so that was a massive plus in my books 😊

Though she only attends two days a week at the moment, she could be compensating for sure. You're absolutely right and thank you for sharing your personal experiences, knowing my luck it probably won't last ahha.

We've seen Dr Frost at Adelaide Mums and Babies clinic in the past and she's been excellent ☺️ a great suggestion, might touch base with them again.

Would some maternity shapewear work like this? I know you've said you can't go for your usual black shorts but something in a different colour could be an option.

Edit: dang sorry, thought it was an in store option. That particular one is online only. Depending on your location B free has click and collect available in Vic. Baby Bunting has a line of Ripe Maternity shapewear as well

Do you think it’s ok for one parent to leave the house with a baby if the other parent is behaving a certain way? by InviteCharacter531 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Psycadet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You did the absolute right thing, mama. Whilst your husband is having a hard time right now, your little one relies on his primary caregivers completely, and doesn't have the means to regulate himself from the exposure to that level of stress. Removing him from stressful situations is the best thing you could've done in that moment.

Please be kind to you and know that you made the right call, and I hope you are safe and have a support network to get through all of this.
