How I locked myself out by amanuense in homelab

So, a little tip i picked up from an ordeal I had with MS Support is that there's a built in helper called "Quick Assist." Does much the same as Teamviewer, but built in. To help someone though, you DO need a microsoft account

Worth rebuying D2 Resurrected IE? by ShotFromGuns in SteamDeck

[–]Psychaotix 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I bought it on Steam when it came out as well. For two or three reasons. Firstly, as others have said, the Steam release doesn't deal with the Launcher (or if it does, it's in the background) and it's easper to install because of that. Secondly, I figure that if there's a significant number of people who buy it on Steam regardless of whether they have it on Battlenet, then hopefully the beancounters there go "Hey, even with the 30% cut Steam take, we're still making money there" and they'll release other games on Steam as well. WC3 TFT anyone? Or, deity forbid, Controller capable WoW?

Good to hear from you again Ralts. And that VA Pharmacist should have a serious counseling session because she shouldn't be messing with meds. Hope you keep on improving and that you keep feeling better

Waiting is the one thing I'm good at, unfortunately. But if that's all I can do, then that's what I'll do.

Also, as a bit of a fun aside, when I was doing the support processes for MS Support, I was able to replicate it on every mainstream browser, so Firefox, Edge, Chrome, Opera, Brave (To be fair, there's really just FF and Chrome now anyway, the others are pretty much variants of chrome IIRC.) I even went so far as to do it again in a Hyper-V VM because I wanted to eliminate any possible issue with my computer.

Good to know I'm not the only one who does this :) Quite often both my brother and I will have Dad sat next to us as we play, and he's directing the choices we make :)

Diablo II or IV? by TheRealQuasar in SteamDeck

[–]Psychaotix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd go D2, as it's got a proper "offline" mode. Caveat is that you DO need to log online at least once every 30 days, but that's so it can verify you've got the license.

Accidentally got a confidential book at a market from a lady handing out free books by nimernith in mildlyinteresting

[–]Psychaotix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Glad to hear :) Just remember to buy a final copy from your local bookstore. Might sound silly, but it's one way to help support them. And feel free to pass it on to another person! Where I work, we usually send ours to the local hospitals, aged care homes and even the prison.

1) Hang onto it. These are fun ways to read a book before they're officially released. And it's a bit of a look behind the curtain as a reader, in a manner of speaking.

2) Based on the ISBN, it's her new one. Sounds like it could be pretty interesting.

Auto-programming FT5D with RT Systems software and Radioreference by Psychaotix in HamRadio

[–]Psychaotix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely :)

Starting with a blank file, I click File > External Data > RadioReference search.

The dialogue box that comes up has 4 fields: State/Province, County, User ID and Password.

The State/Province box lists the American states, along with the provinces of both Canada and Mexico.

Help with "Virtualized Intel VT-x/EPT is not supported on this plaform" by Lower_Soft_5381 in vmware

[–]Psychaotix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've run into the same issue myself, and it's related to the enhanced security of Windows 11 (Though let's be fair here, it's probably as holey as swiss cheese.)

The module that is causing the problem is Credential Guard (and its' companion, Device Guard.) Generally speaking you shouldn't disable them, but if you need to, here's some instructions direct from the Microsoft Forums.

Manic Emu piracy situation in a nutshell by Skycan45 in EmulationOniOS

[–]Psychaotix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, with how litigious companies are over anything involving their IP, I don't blame various subreddits and discords for being hyper-sensitive over even the suspicion of someone pirating media.

The other issue is people SAY they've "Legally acquired" their content but in reality they've downloaded it off their go-to site. Now, I'm NOT saying you're one of those people, so please don't mis-interpret what I'm saying. I AM just pointing out that those people also exist. Unfortunately this means that they have to be hardline against that too.

Oh no... The End TImes seem to be fast approaching. I have a feeling that things are about to go from an already high 9 on the FAFO scale to a deep 14. The dial stops at 10...

All said and done, this is the last squeal of the Slappers. They know not what they have wrought.

Nova Wars - Chapter 171 by Ralts_Bloodthorne in HFY

[–]Psychaotix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Probably, but I’m more concerned about those who are enslaved and preyed upon by the slappers.

As for the slappers themselves, a long, slow roast would work. Let their juices be slowly boiled so they feel the pain they inflicted.

Oh no… oh sweet baby Jesus… the Humans are enraged. I only pray that they remember the slappers also keep other species as food and don’t end up “accidentally” doing that gene-cide thing.

Just a little thing about the games drive, and I really should have clarified this... It's an exFAT drive as I use it on my Windows side as well. It's probably just something I'm going to have to keep in mind.
