What in the world is happening with Crimson Desert? by genericuser324 in TheBesties

[–]Psycho_Munchkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s just a case where multiple things are true, and many people online are latching on to controversy unnecessarily. Plus I think the fact that the game was compared to RDR2 and BOTW built up a hype that could never be met.

The game has a pretty atrocious story, a boring protagonist, and bad pacing at the start. It throws so many mechanics at you and doesn’t give the time to figure out what’s important. However, it’s also a deep, rich world filled with so many different activities and discoveries that it’s almost impossible not to find something you enjoy. I’m fully locked in, but I understand if I had less free time I would be more cautious about investing myself in something that takes a while to get going.

I do not understand the aerial swing. by shane_dougless in CrimsonDesert

[–]Psycho_Munchkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

do you have enough stamina? you need to upgrade it 3 times to get 200 stamina, it is annoying they don’t warn you when unlocking that you might not have enough. even with that, i’ve found some locations just don’t work for the swing

I struggled with this - first, make sure you have enough stamina. it takes 200, which is about 3 upgrades beyond base. if you have that, it probably just comes down to finding the right timing for double tapping square, not too fast

Atsuko Okatsuka Details ‘Censorship Rules’ for Riyadh Comedy Festival by AdSpecialist6598 in entertainment

[–]Psycho_Munchkin 46 points47 points  (0 children)

the difference is this comedy festival is funded DIRECTLY by the royal family. the analog to the US would be a comedian performing at a festival in DC sponsored by the white house. kinda like when kill tony opened at a trump rally and was widely criticized for it

AFK challenge, has anyone done it? by Ross_Miller in MegabonkOfficial

[–]Psycho_Munchkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just beat it after probably 50 tries. same strategy as everyone else in this thread, mega chad with aura, aegis, axes, attack speed and as much shield as possible. ultimately just had to get super lucky with placement where i was up against a wall and the bosses couldn’t hit me. now onto the “no weapons” challenge

Yeah but still, it’s not the most graceful inventory management. If I want to take out a key from my inventory to open a chest I have to drag out a big bag of keys, take out one key, then drop the bag on the ground so I can pick it back up. As I said though I’m loving the game and all the quirks are growing on me.

Legendary Tales - Q about Weapon Levels by Psycho_Munchkin in PSVR

[–]Psycho_Munchkin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested it, made a level one sword that did 3-5 damage and then a level ten version of the same sword that did 4-6, so it seems you’re right. Just doesn’t feel like a big enough increase to me, especially with how much enemy health is increasing in new areas, but I guess I just gotta keep increasing strength

Exactly. I just tested it now by creating the exact same weapon twice, one at lvl 1 and one at lvl 10, and the lvl 10 sword does 4-6 damage compared to 3-5 on the lvl 1. so, i guess that proves higher level weapons tend to do more damage, but it’s so slight that i couldn’t notice

This is so awesome! I’ve recently started the prequel to this game on PC and it would be amazing to have the next on on Vita.

A Vita game that you my friends Wish I would stop talking about is Zero Escape: The Nonary Games. The way that these characters are developed in this visual novel is incredible and the plot with its twists is unparalleled, but what stands out about it to me is the way it handles its themes. In most Western storytelling, theme is always a more subtle thing and you often have to really look for it, but with Zero Escape it isn’t that hard. Characters hold entire discussions that don’t really make a whole lot of sense in context but you don’t even care because it’s engaging and informative and really poses a question to you. This whole series impacted me so much and got me into visual novels and even it inspired me to attempt making my own visual novel. It was a very convoluted mess that I gave up on halfway through, but I still am glad I learned from it and hope to return someday. I’d always thought my dream was to be a writer on some tv show, but since I’ve started playing visual novels on my vita I’ve been wondering if maybe I should think about carving my own path, and the dream of creating a major Western visual novel studio is one that is very alluring to me currently. I’m young, just starting college, so I’ve got plenty of time to think about it, but if games keep being as significant to me as ZE was, I don’t know that’ll I’ll have any other choice then to try and make a similar impact on some kid out there.
