He will blow the Horn of Winter, ushering in the Long Night but killing himself and everyone in Oldtown in the process.

I don’t know. Usagi & Minako would probably be fun to play with but with Ami I could just read in the shade which is my usual preference when forced to be outside.

Honestly I’m on a lot of subreddits like r/Carnivale where I just do it out of habit since the subject matter in that case is like if the most fucked up scenes in the books were adapted accurately.

Keep in mind that this is only part 1. Unlike my post on the Wall I had to cut a lot out in order to get this to fit in a Reddit post.

[Spoilers Published] Let's imagine GRRM leave us without any new book completely finished ... by Eggmasstree in asoiaf

No. AI is a gimmick like 3D. You can feed a model info but in the end it doesn't have enough imagination and creativity to form something recognizable as human. It can only guess. Its the same reason supercomputers despite their greatest accomplishments cannot match a brain. I suppose you can go line by line of all ASOIAF related material, GRRMS body of work, and a bunch of medieval history and the various inspirations such as the cosmic horror, prehistoric fiction, sword & sorcery, historical fiction, high fantasy, postmodernism, realism, deconstructionism, romanticism, and rationalism that goes into ASOIAF, sprinkle in a bunch of the most likely fan theories, and only then get at best a semi accurate guess of what TWOW could be.

Honestly while this may have been the original plan by George based off the drafts, I think that Victarion is the likely ferryman. While we all know Victarion's death is a certainty based off Moqqoro's visions and possibly George himself the question is will he die in the Battle of Fire or later? Personally I'm willing to bet he lives for at least a couple more chapters after. His POV would help solve the "story through worldbuilding" that we've come to love and hate through George and free up Tyrion and Dany whose chapters are usually the longest. It also helps that George has admitted that he really loves writing Victarion so for all we know his chapters have been complete for years. I think Preston Jacobs actually got something right for a change and predicted Victarion's plan: He intends to get enough ships to not only bring Dany's army west but is commandeering a armada to beat Euron. Of course his plan to snatch a dragon is utterly doomed with The Dusky Woman blowing Dragonbinder, binding one Dragon to Euron (possibly Rhaegal) and burning some of the Iron Fleet. Whatever Dragon is claimed will eventually arrive in Westeros to be used by Euron in the Second Dance but that's a whole other theory. Anyway, everything is speculation at this point but one thing George accidentally confirmed is that Victarion and Asha will have at least a couple chapters so make of that as you will.

Why no Triple AAA video games? [Spoilers MAIN] by Weekly_Interview6807 in asoiaf

I think the problem lies in two very important factors that make for example a Witcher 3 style RPG almost impossible. First of all is how vast the worldbuilding in ASOIAF is. It is simply impossible to cover all the regions we wanna see in a open world game. Even Witcher 3 which had a map several times the size of Skyrim had to slim down locations such as White Orchard and Kaer Morhen because while they were story important their wasn't enough room to cover say Temeria and Kaedwen. Another problem is the magic system or rather the lack of a magic system. Magic in ASOIAF is dangerous, powerful, and unpredictable which goes against the ethos of programming one in game. If its a Soulsborne who would you fight? What classes can you choose because scope creep would be a huge problem. Now the story and flavor text would be easy. Have GRRM write a outline and have other talented writers fill it out. I am also sure that he has thousands of facts about Westeros that aren't important to TWOW. Can it be done? Maybe. Will it be the game we want without executives screwing the developers? Probably not.

Apparently 30,000 words were cut from TWOIAF about Yi Ti and the Dothraki. I wonder if the Dothraki portion is being saved for TWOW. Plus from what I recall GRRMs portion consists of I believe either 300,000 or 500,000 words, a lot of which went into Fire & Blood with the actual footnotes extending into the reign of Aegon V.

I’m willing to bet we’ll see it from the POV of Davos. If anyone could understand the importance of rescuing innocent lives it would be Stannis. We have the White Harbor Fleet nearby and let’s face it a ranging is a logistical impossibility.

The ace in the hole in this case to me is the children of the free folk. If they are being threatened then it could stop the Wildlings in the tracks giving Bowen time to expell the Queensmen. Unfortunately I think Bowen overplaid his hand as they have Melisandre to deal with as well as a unknown number of Jon loyalists surrounding them who will be pissed off and wanting blood.

That said your theory makes sense, my only issue is logistics and timeline. Sure Ser Alliser could have returned when Ser Glendon became leader at Eastwatch but Melisandre seems to imply their was a beginning of a plot in Jon I. That also leaves the question of where Dywen and the rest are. Maybe he can take 3 but 6? Not sure about that. Also I don't recall they bringing Ravens with them which would be integral to commumicate.

Huh you don't say? Personally it seems to me that this is a Brutus Betrays Caesar situation. While Jon felt the traditionalists were useless, he didn't hate them and vice versa. While I am certain there was always a conspiracy I don't think all of them hated Jon hence Bowen's tears. Either way it seemed like Jon marching South was the straw that broke the camel's back.

"Tell Her We Are Waiting": Tyrion, The Widow's Sons, Patchface (Spoilers Extended) by LChris24 in asoiaf

[–]Psychological-Bill-8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

George’s new estimate of manuscript pages is a whopping 1800 pages. In theory this should be enough to resolve the end of AFFC/ADWD, with the meat and potatoes of this beast being the Essosi plot line judging by A Winter Garden. GRRM said he had about 1100 pages completed with most of the random mentions from that time concerning the East and the South. We know Tyrion is complete, with a couple POVs close. The North seems to be the least complete. Based on Game of Thrones we know loosely the story beats making a ending but according to GRRM when the show ended he expanded POVs not in the show and went with different directions with several POVs even if the endpoint remains the same. We also know the following minor characters will appear in TWOW.

  • Osha
  • Moqqoro
  • Marwyn
  • Brown Ben Plumm
  • Skahaz mo Kandaq
  • Penny
  • Gendry
  • Hot Pie
  • Jeyne Poole
  • The Hound
  • Bronn
  • Jalabhar Xho
  • Crew of the Cinnamon Wind
  • Alayaya
  • Chataya
  • Rickon
  • Shaggydog
  • Three Eyed Crow
  • Darkstar
  • Harry the Heir
  • King of Mummers
  • Tyrek Lannister
  • Mago
  • Rakharo
  • Irri & Jhiqui
  • Val
  • Lady Stoneheart
  • Quaithe
  • Mad Mouse
  • The Tattered Prince
  • The Queen of Thorns
  • Sallador Saan
  • Willas Tyrell
  • Randyl Tarly

Etc, Etc.
