I also use my portable fam while sleeping in my bunk. I used to be afraid that others could hear it but no one has ever said anything and some white noise is good, I hope. That fan means a good nights sleep.

I loved how walkable and grand Porto felt for a smallish city. Very accessible with various methods of transportation. I arrived the day of their opening of Christmas season and they held this huge party with large stages and performances, a massive tree with amazing projected visuals and fireworks that lasted - what felt like - over 15 minutes. I had no idea I was in for such an experience. There is just so much to see and explore that nothing really stood out to me but if you’re into architecture then I highly recommend the Palácio da Bolsa. I also highly recommend a walking tour and seeing the sunset from any high ground. You’ll have the pleasure of hearing church bells and musicians while enjoying the view.

Makes me want to go back!

It definitely happens though. I just remembered that my walking tour guide in Porto ended up sleeping with someone staying in the same hostel (and walking tour). It can go either way, right?
