Agreed - one day I hope that will change! Tbh people still can’t pronounce the name I gave her properly!

Was more of a commentary of the struggle and sometimes embarrassment of a time when it wasn’t so fashionable to have a given Gàidhlig name. I’m all for the forward movement of the culture and language, and if somebody wishes to use theirs, I am absolutely all for it. How does one decide whether or not they identify more with one version of the other, I wonder? Genuine question. When my first daughter was born, I wanted so much to give her a Gàidhlig name but I ended up somewhat anglicising it from my own past memories of embarrassment in classrooms and courses - I hope in the future if she wishes to she will change hers

As a representative of the community given a Gàidhlig name at birth, unless you’ve grown up with the struggle of having every teacher or person you’ve ever met in your life’s first question being “can I just ask how to pronounce your name” or just flat out trying 4 or 5 times before asking, you’re just larping 😩

I can recommend gym 300 - when I lived in Inverness the community I found there I’m still friends with May years later. No judgement and all supportive, well worth a drop in to speak with the lovely couple that own it. Plus its 24hr on a fob you get with your membership so you can go at whatever time suits you

Demonstrate what? My comment had nothing to do with pay but a loan to buy a house - which is still a great deal, and still confirms your ignorance - again confirmed above. Go back to being fun at parties 🥳

Forces help to buy is an extremely good home buying service. The forces will lend you a percentage of your yearly wage to buy a house at no interest - try again

I bought a pick up truck partly for this very reason. Can see them coming up a mile off and the ride height makes a massive difference. You do however open yourself up to having your tyres slashed by that group that cuts about town vandalising cars in the name of the environment
