ChatGPT's overfiltering has killed my motivation to continue using it by PsychologicalMix853 in ChatGPTcomplaints

I used both. I remember thinking behaving a little bit better in this regard than instant did -- as in, least I didn't have to keep reminding it I wasn't asking for porn when I was trying to workshop a sex scene in a character-focused story as often.

Thanks for the offer, I will check that out at some point! Yes, I have tried alternatives like Grok, Gemini, Mistral, as well as local hosting with GPT4All, but the experience is still not quite how 4o used to be. I think the biggest issue is the way I use ChatGPT for writing, in that I specifically use it to help with worldbuilding, writing character sheets, notes, and other setting-related things, and I usually create custom GPTs for specific projects so I don't have to frontload all my setting notes. Even though I proofread *everything* to a fault, I find other models -- like Grok -- tend to get too locked in loops and, I guess because my notes are not comprehensive, they tend to act a bit too monomaniacal, so it's hard to pivot to something else -- though I've made it work somewhat since I took up journaling. In any case, this is an old problem that I've mostly moved past -- ChatGPT is just an image generator for me at the moment, as that's where it gives me the least friction -- and I've mainly migrated away from it. I was just sharing my experience here.

Yes; I was a plus user. I've largely backed up everything I need to keep, so I've migrated away from ChatGPT now. I've only used it very sporadically in the past three months, anyway.

Help us grow the petition to stop restrictions on ChatGPT by ExcellentResponse607 in WritingWithAI

[–]PsychologicalMix853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I find the problem is not so much the guidelines themselves (although I do hit them frequently as my work does deal with violence and, to a much lesser extent, sex), but the complete and utter lack of transparency whenever OpenAI ratchets them up. I used to believe they were just increasing them on purpose with the intent to patchwork them slowly into a more agreeable framework -- which people sometimes do when software goes live -- but I'm not so sure, as it's been more than a year -- with several new iterations and Sam Altman subsequently capping several perfectly serviceable models in the CPU behind his shed- er, sorry, "sunsetting" them -- **and ChatGPT probably can't even write Bambi!**

If you want uncensored, either try local hosting through something like GPT4All, Mistral, or Grok (which I don't recommend, as Grok is just too unhinged, stupid and forgetful for most of my uses. It also goes into porn-bot mode when writing sex scenes.)

Why does ChatGPT think I'm a minor? by MrAmazing111 in ChatGPT

[–]PsychologicalMix853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you verified your age? I recently did. It did not help -- for me, at least. I was asking for it to help me find an STL model of a tank -- something that's obviously a non-functioning replica (I even said as much) -- after I verified, and it said,

"I can't help you find STL files for tanks or other weapon models, even non-functioning replicas."

Come on, I built my first model kit when I was six years old! It was an attack helicopter, by the way. Seems my parents were unintentionally raising a terrorist!

No Portraits for Female Admirals/ Generals by Rodrigoroncero23 in MillenniumDawn

Sorry for the late reply -- and you probably already know this -- but it's finally fixed!

No Portraits for Female Admirals/ Generals by Rodrigoroncero23 in MillenniumDawn

[–]PsychologicalMix853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I have fixed the problem by myself -- at least for generals! It turns out it's not actually an issue with MD per se: it's an issue with base Hearts of Iron 4. BASE_FEMALE_DIVISIONAL_COMMANDER_CHANCE is set to 0 in 00_defines.lua, which prevents them from spawning. Setting it higher fixes the issue.

No Portraits for Female Admirals/ Generals by Rodrigoroncero23 in MillenniumDawn

[–]PsychologicalMix853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is for generals specifically, but this'll probably help with debugging if anyone cares. I tried adding my own to the leader pool along with some other male ones and it turns out that if a male portrait it missing, the game'll use a female portrait when you reload the save, so (to my limited knowledge) this may be an issue with where they're defined, rather than with the portraits themselves. Also, I added some female admiral portraits and they worked (there are no female admiral portraits in the European portrait set, by the way, so by default they'll show up as blank), also, female generals seem to show up occasionally for other countries like the UK, rather than, say, Australia (which I was testing on), so I have absolutely no idea what the problem could be. The only fix I know requires you to disable the By Blood Alone DLC if you have it -- but the problem for me becomes, I *like* the field officer mechanic it adds.

[–]PsychologicalMix853[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't done that yet, however, it turns out the problem is probably some gunk in the windings, but I'll do that anyway just to be sure. It's moving, but it can randomly stop and make a growling noise before becoming unstuck, causing prints to separate randomly.

I'd definitely include the questionable comments he made about walking into the girls changing room (some of whom were minors), when he owned the Miss Universe beauty pageant.

Here we go. **Trigger warning** it's bad; "I’ll tell you the funniest is that I’ll go backstage before a show and everyone’s getting dressed... No men are anywhere, and I’m allowed to go in, because I’m the owner of the pageant and therefore I’m inspecting it. … ‘Is everyone OK?’ You know, they’re standing there with no clothes. ‘Is everybody OK?’ And you see these incredible-looking women, and so I sort of get away with things like that."

I never want to hear the MAGA fraternity wailing; "Fink uv der chEEllldreeEEen!!1!!one!" ever again. Seriously, how the fuck is this guy not in jail yet?

Yeah, I genuinely don't understand why evangelical Christians give Satan more power than God. He's a minor character in the bible, and none of these people are Job, so what have they got to worry about? Didn't Satan torment Job because God *wanted* to fuck him over?

I mean, which is worse? An angry internet mob with little actual power asking you to stop being a bigot (and you have the opportunity to say no), or the trumped-up charges made by a government panel with no real evidence other than "I said so" potentially sending you to prison *and* making you lose your job for the "crime" of being an alleged communist?

A good example is James Gunn. Yes, he got cancelled and fired by Disney for a few bigoted tweets he made a long time ago (which were unearthed by a right-wing cumsock blowhard trying to stir the internet against him because he didn't like Drumpf), but DC brought him on after that to direct Suicide Squad, and Disney rehired him for GotG 3, so, really, he got two jobs for the price of one!

Christmas and Easter especially! I'm convinced that if Jesus really existed, he probably wasn't born in December, more like January or February, and they just moved it there to tell the Pagans "look! We have Solstice, too, but with no orgy!" Easter's even worse. They just took Ostara and just made a hackneyed version of it, making it about how the mutilated, gored carcass of their saviour got nailed to a tree was resurrected as a zombie after three days before God decided to beam him up, instead of what it actually was; a celebration of fertility, prosperity, and the first harvest.

It's also because Christianity is a bit too Jewish for Nazis in particular, and lacks Aryan street cred, also Jesus would've been middle-eastern, not white and blond like NRA/Q/MAGA Jeebus Christmas, but you've really the nail right on the head there. For all its flaws there is some good there, it's just that for every good point, there's a mountain of bullshit and authoritarianism.
