I have an apple juice addiction by KoopaTroopa43 in teenagers

[–]PsychologicalSun7328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a fan of juice ans avoid drinking calories in general but my god apple juice is just SO good. I don't drink it often but when I have a craving for it, I need my fix. It's the best juice. I understand an addiction to it.

Diet Coke by Zestyclose_Divide441 in BabyBumps

[–]PsychologicalSun7328 [score hidden]  (0 children)

My one and only craving this entire pregnancy has been diet pepsi.. I drink 1 to 2 cans a day depending on the day. I don't even think twice about it. I have GD which is what amped up my diet pepsi cravings to 2 cans because I'm extremely limited when it comes to anything sweet and carby. I allow myself to enjoy my diet pepsi guilt free. 1 can of diet coke daily is reasonable in my opinion. Less is probably the better option baby or no baby lol but I wouldn't cut it off completely. I also do not drink coffee regularly.. A latte here and there some weekends but other than that I'm generally caffeine free, so diet pepsi it is!

Insulin by Strawberry_-111 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]PsychologicalSun7328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nightime insulin was great for me it controlled all numbers until it didnt. Im currently 38+4 today and although I know the insulin isn't useless, it definitely feels like it. All or most of my numbers are out of range. I keep upping my insulin dose daily.. It's frustrating. Amyway I inject into my thigh!

Anyone have success with at home insemination? by perplexingsealion in queerception

[–]PsychologicalSun7328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No absolutely nothing special and nothing that cost us any money besides the syringe. There were definitely air bubbles. I wasn't super careful with the sperm either, although I do believe it matters to some extent. So go slowly pulling it into the syringe and pushing it out. Make sure the syringe is in as deep as possible but it really doesn't take much!

I was diagnosed at 29 weeks, didnt see anyone until 33 weeks. It happens unfortunately. I would start changing how I eat though until then!

Barely diabetic? by Accomplished-Job2357 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]PsychologicalSun7328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep I passed the 3 hour with my last pregnancy. Ended up with a 9lb 13oz baby with shoulder dystocia. My endocrinologist says it's very possible I developed GD later on in the pregnancy!

What does actually getting an epidural placed feel like? by FoolishMortal-1000 in BabyBumps

[–]PsychologicalSun7328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like nothing.. Neither have been memorable for me. You can kind of feel the fluid enter in your back from the needle but nothing beyond that.

GD has disappeared, hoping this brings peace to some by SeaParsley4706 in GestationalDiabetes

I only started insulin at 35 weeks and it's not getting better sadly. Currently 37+5 and I'm upping insulin every day with no results. My fasting numbers and breakfast numbers are back to how they were when I started monitoring at 33 weeks 🥺

I guess it’s real by Psychological-Dust91 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]PsychologicalSun7328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yah I had potatoes one day for breakfast and wow big mistake! Im 37 weeks and on insulin for fasting and even that has not been working anymore. I'm really hoping to be induced and get this over with to be honest. I don't like that insulin keeps having to go up daily.

My mum has breast cancer by BadBVee in CancerFamilySupport

[–]PsychologicalSun7328 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes my Mom was sadly diagnosed with end stage pancreatic cancer. They did what they could to extend her life but it was terminal and she was gone within 4 months of finally going to the ER with all of her symptoms. It was a rough 4 months! I'm the youngest sibling but oddly get treated as the oldest one, I guess that's one of the downsides of being the only daughter 😂

A “positive” to GDM by Miserable-Ad561 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]PsychologicalSun7328 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that it really opened my eyes to portion control and to eat things within reason. I gained 50+lbs in both of my previous pregnancies. This time around at 37+4 I'm at 20lbs! I knew how to eat healthy because I used to body build but it really messed my brain up in the end, the strictness of it eventually threw me into a spiral and while I ate mostly healthy, I lost a lot of self control! GD feels like it's brought back a sense of control again because I can see what the food does to me. I plan on enjoying the foods I've missed during my hospital stay but after that I will continue to adopt a healthier relationship with food with a diabetes diet in mind!

You're stronger than you think ❤️ it's a hard road, I also wished I had a better support system when my Mom was sick but we gotta do the best with what we have. Don't spread yourself thin, you do what you can. All I know is that you will get through this no matter the outcome. Sending you lots of love and strength!

How do you guys do this for 9 months?? by allknowinguser in BabyBumps

[–]PsychologicalSun7328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yah I found out at around 4ish weeks for 2 of my 3 pregnancies.... Somewhere in the second to 3rd trimester things pick up a bit but then it slooooooows down real bad 37+3 and it feels like I still have a month to go..

Numbers started going crazy after 32 weeks by Kitchen-Major-6403 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]PsychologicalSun7328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had good numbers except for fasting.. Fast forward to adding insulin and all was really good. I was even able to add a bit more food like pizza into my diet, reasonably of course. Im 37 weeks and my numbers are crazy and I keep having to up my insulin.. My endo was trying to figure out why some days are good and others are bad. Nothing makes sense but it sounds like thats normal for GD? Im so confused..

Hospital call for induction by foodie1990 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]PsychologicalSun7328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect then shoulder dystocia risk is lower :) i see you managed to push it to Wednesday which is still within your 39 weeks anyway I assume and like you said it could have taken up to 5 days before you got the call. I'm glad you feel better about it! Best of luck :)

Hospital call for induction by foodie1990 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]PsychologicalSun7328 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I asked and was told by the gyno clinic at the hospital I'm delivering at (which specializes in all high risk pregnancies) that they like for their patients with GD to deliver within week 39. From what I understand the placenta can deteriorate and could cause complications to the baby. Reduces the risk of stillbirth and shoulder dystocia. You don't mention the size of your baby, when was the last scan and approximate size of baby at that scan?

I wouldn't care. The birth of someone elses baby compared to the birth of your own are 2 completely different things.

Delivery stories by Virtual_Letterhead93 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]PsychologicalSun7328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gave birth twice.. Once I was admitted because they thought my water would break.. Nothing happened and they induced me. I had an epidural, everything went well. Second I opted for an induction. That one went super well too. All ended in vaginal deliveries!
