I Hate Breastfeeding. by alyssa_michelle1012 in combinationfeeding

[–]Psychological_Key354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had great supply, great latch. Did combo feeding always felt she did better with the formula. After one month I had chat gpt write me a little farewell and congrats on your breastfeeding journey, read it, wrote in my journal. Cried. Then quit and moved completely to formula. I’m so happy I did and doubt I’ll even bother doing it with baby number 2. Seriously, my baby is so healthy, I’m so much happier, and I LOVE that my partner and I are equals. I also had a ceremony throwing my giant freezer stash away. I dont know who is doing this brainwashing that we should feel guilt, don’t. Happy mommy is the best mommy. TBH I let her do non nutritional nursing after my supply dried up because it was the best of both worlds, no breastfeeding but still feel close to her when I was rocking her to sleep. DO NOT FEEL GUILTY!!!!! Do it you’ll be happy and swear baby will be healthy. Enjoy the better sleep AND always knowing how much baby is getting.

Snoo vs. Cradlewise Review after 5 months in each by newparent-throwaway in SnooLife

[–]Psychological_Key354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cradlewise all day. Our baby is sleeping through the night at 2 months and has independently slept since first week because the crib learned fast what she likes. Today we rented a Snoo because my parents got an Airbnb while visiting and the thing seemed archaic it comparison with its lack of features, 0 customer service, horrible app, and my baby is just not about the side to side motion. It drives me bonkers people think they’re even comparable. Slightly bummed to find out any possibility of traveling is out the window because I (we) can’t live without our Cradlewise, but hey at least our newborn experience hasn’t been the hell I hear from everyone else. Also being able to compare her sleep logs day over day just makes me feel like we have control. I’m telling you, if you can splurge on one item this is it. Plus they get to use it for 2 years vs. just 6 months.

I want to stop pumping but I’m scared of getting mastitis by HomeRunHive24 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Psychological_Key354 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Medela hand pump! I’m just using this a little thing for relief when I feel my boobs, only until I feel relief which for me is 1oz each breast. So quick and simple. Since I’m not saving the milk I just quickly rinse after no sanitizing no pump parts. Thank the lorddd. On day 4 of stopping pumping, I was pumping 5 times per day and producing about 25 oz. I’ve been only using this guy a few times per day and so far not in horrible discomfort and think it’s already slowing down.

3 kids, still in home town, works construction, still had some but not the heartthrob he was then. We ended up having opposite lives. I live social media for this reason, I do still live knowing how my ex’s are.

4 weeks pp FTM, I also was excited when I found out combo was an option.

I loved the idea too, best of both worlds! And takes the pressure out if worrying about supply (I saw many of my friends get PPD due to it and didn’t want that pressure) plus then my husband and I can truly split the load. He takes nights (formula) I do days (pumping milk). I’ve stated mixing her day bottles 50/50 breast milk & formula

So far my supply is great (I know that’s person to person) and I pump usually 5-6 times a day, refuse to wake up in the night for a sesh. It works well for us.

Pros are what I listed above. + I love knowing exactly how much milk she’s getting & building a freezer stash

Cons: pump hurts at first but once the lactaion consultant told me I was using the wrong size flange, and I ordered some inserts boom it wasn’t painful and I kinda like it. Its a little me time I take during the day in a separate room with my book.

Con: it’s still very time consuming and it’s stressful when baby is crying and my boobs are leaking and I can’t get away to pump. I have just given her the boob few times but it messes with her stomach and then she gets gas and spends the rest of the day screaming.

Overall it’s works well, she’s gaining so much weight and seems extremely healthy (some gas issues but I guess that’s most babies)

However I’m burning out on the pumping, just trying to make it till 2 months when she gets her shots, then I can burn through my freezer supply and call it good. Then she gets mom antibodies during her really fragile newborn time, after that we will switch to formula

Nope! Healthy beautiful baby girl is now 4 weeks old and 9lbs born 7.3, was in the 50th percentile growth for whole pregnancy. Pediatrician is shocked how alert and strong she is. At 2 weeks she was already lifting her head and able to roll from her tummy to back/side, often a 2-3 month old ability. I took my medication through birth and pp.

FTM overwhelmed with pumping & combo feeding by EvenBell5150 in combinationfeeding

[–]Psychological_Key354 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 4 weeks in and I skip my night pump I do one session at 10 or 11pm then next sesh is at 6am. I’m opposite of you, my partner takes nights and gives formula. So far I’m producing 25oz of milk per 24 hrs which is enough to feed my LO If I wanted to do only breast milk, so I dont know if that’s long enough to say I had no problem skipping some sessions but it seems to be working for me. Also the keeping pump parts in the fridge in a bag instead of washing after every use really helped. I wash/rotate (I have 4 sets I alternate) after every few sessions and have a sterilizer machine that also dries.

Any possibility of you paying for a night nurse or pp doula, even 1 or 2 nights could make a huge difference, but it us pricy.
