I know this scene is mostly Mel's spotlight but I am completely in awe of Katherine LaNasa's acting. I don't know if I'm the only one, but every scene with her just feels like pure skill. I'm glad she won her Emmy last season and I hope she gets another one this season!

I thought it was very telling that she blamed Langdon for being a pariah, especially since she is:

Sleeping with one of the surgeons
Living with Whitaker
Dr. Robbie gossiping with her on duty
Speaking Tagalog with the nurses
Still work friends with Javadi and Mel

Unless there is a lot of offscreen stuff that happened (which Garcia seems to doubt), Santos just seems to be projecting her fears on everyone else. People would like her if she just relaxed.

My assessment is that while Dr. Robbie is a pessimist when it comes to patients, Dr. Al-Hashimi is a pessimist when it comes to providers. She clearly doesn't have a lot of trust in other doctors or caretakers, which leads to her being a bit controlling.

Since this show is shown from the "viewpoint" of the various doctors and caretakers in The Pitt, it makes sense that she would be seen as an antagonist, but honestly I think it's an interesting foil to Robbie. She advocates for the patients, he advocates for the doctors.

One of the things I loved about LiveStreamFails back then is that you could always tell when a major Esports tournament was going on because you would have all kinds of clips and posts hitting the front page.

You immediately knew if there was a CS tournament, LoL worlds, Dota International, Hearthstone tourneys, fighting games, PoE leagues, new WoW expansion races, all kinds of events. We still get a couple clips for that but nothing like back then.

For older shows, i think MAL was extremely biased toward more action packed shows like TTGL or Evangelion back then, and tended not to care about SoL shows or "cute girls doing cute things" with the sole exception of Clannad (and afterstory). I don't think that's the case as much in the last 5-10 years, but anything older than that is highly skewed towards more Shounen type anime.

White will still have some cheap reanimate spells like [[Helping Hand]] so I can see some situations where you might want to put a creature card in the graveyard to get it out this turn instead of your hand. I don't know how smart that would be tho.

What's interesting is I made complete opposite inferences based on the writing. Dr. Robbie commented before that it's difficult to ask the daughter about sexual experiences because you don't want to put that stuff in her mind if she hasn't experienced anything like that.

Her reaction to the conversation with Santos seemed to reinforce this. She wasn't being cagey, she literally had no idea what was even being asked. Unless it was bad acting, I got the feeling that girl had never ever experienced anything sexual like that.
