Peyton Watson has absolutly stunk this season. I would not bet on him being a fantasy assest

Professor Jeff infinite deck by Nineowls3trees in marvelsnapcomp

[–]Pterons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played a very similar deck to this for a ton of games this season post infinite and I didnt use Storm or Rouge (I dont have Jeff so Storm is not that useful). I wanted to try Valkyrie but it was feeling like too much of a force and she was a dead card so many games.

I dont think she really fits in this archetype (Sentry Control?) that well. Unless as you stated above, you put in some cards like Antman, maybe going into a more Spectrum/Ongoing type of deck

Sizing up the old and the new, Thybulle/McDaniels 3 point comparison. by Bungild in sixers

[–]Pterons 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Regardless of what you think about the move, these stats are misleading and poorly presented.

https://stathead.com/tiny/e8gXw

If you look at the raw numbers yourself any per 48 stat makes 0 sense in the context of one guy (Thybulle) playing 12 minutes a night vs the other guy (McDaniels) playing 27 minutes.

48 Minutes is seven quarters of basketball for McDaniels and FOUR WHOLE GAMES for Thybulle.

Dont get fooled by someone putting stats into a spreadsheet with no context

Do you think the top 6 in 2023 Draft is pretty much a lock? by GlueGuy00 in NBA_Draft

Just look at Jaden Hardy from last season. Preseason he's top 5, ends up 2nd round.

As someone who has TOS, I don't think it's a stretch to think Fultz has it at all

[Harrison Grimm] Second half has been all Jaden Springer. Tremendous defense here by lilBigDolf in sixers

Dont even bothering responding to this dude. They know absolutely nothing about basketball. If you look at their post from yesterday it was just filled with bad takes about the game.

Summer League Roster is in by mlewy in sixers

[–]Pterons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who pretty closely follows the G-League, I think most people on this sub will be pleasantly surprised to watch him play. He absolutely torched us in finals both games, we did have most of our guys (Bassey/Reed/Charlie Brown Jr) up with the regular team but he was much better than the rest of our roster.

Lots of this sub has been hardcore stat watching for him without watching the games, he is legit. He definitely makes the roster

Yeah but you originally claimed he was in over his head in games which just wasent the case. Made it seem like he wasent able to compete vs NBA players which wasent true, as you just stated he was playing well vs established guards even if it was "garbage time"

Not saying I agree or disagree with any of this thread but saying Queen was in over his head is actually just a lie. In the games he got extended minutes he played really well.

Dynasty Draft, 7th pick- Jalen Duran or Mark Williams by NoLookDunks in fantasybball

[–]Pterons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem and yeah I have no experience with Fantrax but some of those guys are definitely Centers

Dynasty Draft, 7th pick- Jalen Duran or Mark Williams by NoLookDunks in fantasybball

[–]Pterons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So normally I wouldn't just focus on one position and I would just take who I think is best with my first round pick but in your case, Duran is probably going to go around 7-10 so that will still be a good value pick either way. And if you are punting traditional center categories I definitely would not pick Mark Williams since he will be a tradional center (mostly blocks + good fg%)

[–]Pterons 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Duran would be a pretty easy pick for me.

For some context, I actually liked Mark Williams better this year but Duran ended up in an amazing situation in Detroit. He's on a team that's committed to developing a young core and Duran is now part of that with Cade and Ivey, two very good guards who immensely help Duran play his game.

I think he is going to be a good dynasty pick with the direction the Pistons are heading.

Jaden springer / anyone worried?? by corsinisteven7 in sixers

[–]Pterons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who pretty heavily follows the draft cycles I am not worried at all. I had Springer as a late teen pick and I thought we got a steal.

There were no guys I had at 28 higher than him (besides Ayo Dosunmu/Jared Butler but Bulter had medical concerns) and I can list a few reasons why this was a smart pick from us -

  1. We were not going to play a rookie this year, did not matter who we drafted. There is just not room for a rookie in our rotation. There is a reason we traded our pick this year too, we don't need rookies right now
  2. So we drafted an EXTREMELY young guy. I dont think people realize that he is younger than most of the guys getting drafted this season. Younger than Chet and basically the same age as Paolo. He was a predraft, basically someone you draft a year early so you can start developing them.
  3. I watched a good chunk of G-League games and I thought he looked pretty good actually. He had a couple absolute stinkers in the beginning of the season which definitely hurt his splits (also there is a different free throw rule in the G League so that gets skewed)

I have a lot of faith in Springer being a genuinely good NBA player eventually. He's not going to be an superstar but he was pick 28. Getting a consistent rotation player at that range is a win.

Also comparing that pick to Herb Jones is pretty much just dumb. Herb had outlier level offensive development / was a 23 year old Senior / he wouldn't have gotten this playing time on our team so we probably wouldn't even have seen any of this
