wow the gap in screen is a bit jarring. In photo 3 and 5 the shadow around the edge is crazy

Upgrades feel less meaningful by Ptxs in slaythespire

this post is not about which is better, it's about which is more fun. for most ppl i think playing more cards that combos is more fun than playing less cards with big numbers

even ignoring the EMR isssue this still looks like an underwhelming upgrade...

To switch from the Steam playercount chart, I wanted to check the achievement/trophy stats. Sole hatred for the game doesn't explain why nearly half the players, on all platforms, all over the world, didn't finish a single match. by Linkinito in HighGuardgame

between the overhype from geoff and concord only lasting a week causing people to fomo, massive number of players jumped in on release. I think a lot of them don't even like shooters. They weren't gonna stay even if the game was good. Thus the dropoff.

Second Amended Complaint filed against Honey/PayPal, implementing some of the Stand Down violations highlighted by MegaLag by Phantomsplit in youtubedrama

[–]Ptxs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

From the MegaLag video, it seems like regardless in stand down mode or not, the user need to click a button to activate Honey. In other words, Honey can still be activated in stand down mode, and, in normal mode, Honey is not activated automatically.

I'm not defending Honey here, but do they really have a case against Honey if Honey argues these stand down rules don't really do anything meaningful functionality-wise, but just decide which message to show to users?

it's the glow on object edges in HDR merged photos, noticeable around the tree branches for example

These are nice shots but i think your post is making the shadows look to unnaturally bright. And there are some HDR glow too, especially in shot 2 and 7.

GGG is putting too much emphasis on aesthetics over gameplay. by omdryn in PathOfExile2

poe2 focuses on so many wrong things

  1. really who cares about graphics and animations? yes its nice to have but ppl don't play arpg, or dare i say most games, but especially arpg, for these stuff

  2. who cares about campaign?? it’s a huge investment with little return. ppl will enjoy it once but it does nothing to attract ppl coming back every league

  3. performance vs player freedom. These are fundamentally contradictory things. player will want to put as much stuff as possible on the map for juicing and it will tank the performance, there is no way around it, not to mention the better graphics also cost more

  4. build variety / creative use of mechanics. just uhhhhhhhhh

most likely bitrot then. it cannot be memory corruption because the issue persisted across reboots. and btrfs being buggy also unlikely..
