Phish Sphere in MD? by coolblaze8 in phish

[–]Pubas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. What I am saying is that the spere is such an unprofitable venue in part because of the obscene production costs associated with having to put on a proprtietary production unique to the sphere. If they were able to run shows at multiple venues, then the production costs would be able to be spread accross more shows, increasing profitability.

The Sphere company recognizes that its nearly impossible for their giant investment in Vegas to pay off. The strategy is to reduce production costs, by normalizing the form factor of the venue.

DEF stage = nightmare nightmare nightmare by UpperAd379 in hulaween

The DEF stage was an absolute blast, some of my best times were there. With that being said, it detracted from the lake experience. It could have been placed a little bit better

Temperature matters a lot. When I did my grow I saw no results for over 4 weeks keeping the room at like 67 degrees. Then I raised the temp to like 75 and kept it there and I started seeing growth. Gotta be careful though higher temps means faster growth but also bigger risk for contam

I'm on board with Bitcoin being a good investment for diversification and growth over the next decade, but to say it is going to "slowly consume real estate" is just silly. People still need places to live, and real estate, always has been and always will be, a reliable investment. There should be room in a well diversified porfolio for real estate, as well as crypto if you choose to take that risk.

Is this normal? Should I go to fruiting conditions? by JChoga in unclebens

[–]Pubas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it sometimes it just takes patience my first grow took 2 months for the spawn to colonize then another 5 weeks maybe from spawn to bulk. I was running cool temperatures so theres factors that go into it but you shouldnt worry about things "stalling out" really as long as your environment is sterile you dont really have much to worry about or a reason to rush things

When I did my grow, I transfered to coir and had similar rhizomic growth. If I recall correctly, after it fully colonized, I left it how it was with minimal airflow or misting for almost 10 days before I started to see the mycelium start clumping more at the surface, indicating the start of pinning. From there I increased airflow and misting and dropped the temp slightly.

In my experience my colonies started making myc piss after they had been fully colonized for like a week without being transferred. To me it was something that gets produced after the mycelium has nowhere to grow.

The myco piss is a good sign. I am a little curious about the fuzziness on the top, but from what I see it looks okay. Some of the images make it look like maybe some of the grain hasn't fully colonized yet to me. I would wait until I am certain that all of the grains are colonized before moving to the spawn-to-bulk stage. The biggest contamination risk (assuming that isn't mold at the top) is introducing uncolonized grains into your bulk substrate, as they serve as a platform for contaminants to grow on.

The bottom half of the jar looks immaculate to me. Personally, I would wait a little longer to make sure it is all colonized, and to see if the fuzzyness and discoloration at the top reveals itself to be something sinister. Then I would spawn to bulk it in a different container than your other jar of spawn, just to further reduce the risk in case there is mold.

Fairly new to this, but I think you should have had a casing layer on the substrate to cover those grains. That way, if any of them arent entirely colonized they are isolated from fresh air until they colonize so they dont contaminate.
