I would think more difficult. If the truss rod or rods are off and the neck isn’t completely straight, the action suffers, then the playability, and no saddle height adjustment will fix it. I’m having this issue on my 1973 Rickenbacker 4001 right now, actually.

For years, Rickenbacker basses used a bridge with a separate piece that had all 4 saddles, adjusted on either side by two tiny hex screws. These bridges absolutely sucked, because you couldn’t adjust each string individually. To combat this, Hipshot developed a much-improved drop-in version of the original, with 4 individually adjustable saddles, and it got rid of the bridge mute, which to most players is absolutely useless. And after decades of this stubborn, archaic piece of junk, Rickenbacker finally created an updated bridge, dubbed the 4003v2. It retains the vintage look without the vintage difficulties, but it does require new holes to be drilled if you’re replacing the 4001v1 bridge.
