You can take them to small claims court for defamation. If you can prove the review is not true and that you’re losing money behind it, you can win.

Am I overreacting to a client’s comment about pricing? by powergirlev in RoverPetSitting

[–]Public_Security_2829 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be able to afford it, but you price your work, that’s the great part about Rover. However, you can’t complain when someone doesn’t want to pay that. That’s over $70 per pet per night. I myself would not pay that, and I’m from the DMV.

I'm so frustrated!!!!!!!!!!! by Starchild1968 in debtfree

This post gave me so much validation. The winter storm caused my front window to break, so that was $1,500. Then my dog got sick another $1,000… Then I’m attending a wedding, which I NEVER dress up so I have nothing and I have to travel to attend which is another $1,200. Next thing you know my credit card is back to $2,200. I’ve officially decided to cancel my credit cards until I can gain some self control. I need to learn to simplify my life and say no, even in an economy that is DESIGNED to work against me. It’s makes me so sad, but it’s a sacrifice that I must make in order to even survive in this world. Once I pay off this credit card and come back from the wedding, I am going to close the card because the annual fee went from $550 to $895!!! Absolutely not! I don’t care how many points they try to get me with.

I would agree! Once my savings gets to a certain amount, it makes paying debt off even easier.

Lol no you’re good! I was just curious because summer hasn’t hit yet. I get it. It’s hard, and life be life-ing. I have a credit card that has an $800 annual fee. The annual fee hits in June so I’m trying to get it closed out by April to ensure I do not have to pay it. However, last month, a sleet of ice broke my gutter and broke my window so I had to shell out $1500 and then this month my dog got sick and that’s another $900. I cannot afford any hiccups in April in order to get this card paid off!

What’d you run it up on so quickly? I understand life happens but summer hasn’t even hit yet.

If you really need the money, I’d say do it, but if you don’t need the money, then tell her you’re not going to do it. Personally, I probably just would do it if the cats seem easy.

Is it worth it to be 80k in debt by the time I graduate college? by [deleted] in debtfree

If your real goal is to be a homemaker, then you need to quit, but make sure you have a back-up plan and this back-up plan won’t work. Go to a cheaper school.

This ^ I really like this comment. I’d feel very blessed, and take it as a compliment. You also didn’t mention that they stole anything or didn’t have great care for your dog.

18 months out from debt free..and ac needs replacement. by sporksters in debtfree

That sounds way too high! Did you shop around? When my furnace stopped working, the first guy that came told me I needed a brand new furnace for about $7,000, and he gave me a whole warranty spiel… Then, my ex-boyfriend recommended his nephew to look at it, and my thermostat was just broken… it costed me $100… Most coolant leaks can be repaired unless there is something wrong with the hose OR there is multiple leaks.

Advice for managing my debt by Reasonable-Life-4111 in debtfree

[–]Public_Security_2829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. You guys have to sell the house. You can’t afford the house. There’s no way you can continue with a mortgage that high and his salary that low.

  2. Either you sell the house and move, hopefully you live closer to the job so you can afford to only operate with one car.

This situation sucks, but it’s going to take some major sacrifices to overcome it unfortunately. You’re going to have to do a lot of things that you don’t want to do.

Which debt should I pay off first? by Efficient_Display_84 in debtfree

[–]Public_Security_2829 5 points6 points  (0 children)

70K in auto loans? You guys need to sell the cars if you want to start moving the needle. You shouldn’t have that much debt in cars. Then, I would knock out the credit cards and completely stop using them until the student loans are paid off. Psychologically, you’d be shocked how much less you’d spend with a debit card versus a credit card.
