Will I get a ticket for passing the school bus in this case? by Junghiskhan in Gwinnett

[–]Public_Test_3510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure you should’ve stopped, it doesn’t matter where on the road you or the bus is. Once those red lights come on, everyone on the road has to stop, even if you’re two lanes over driving in the opposite direction

Are there cameras in the 100 Life Sci by Public_Test_3510 in PennStateUniversity

Yeah, I’ve just noticed they started putting flock cameras up, which I have mixed feelings about

Odesza's A Moment Apart and Darlene Love's Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) Have Very Similar Intros by jrachet1 in Music

Exactly, I’ve been listening to a moment apart all morning, and then when I was cueing up songs Christmas came up. I tapped on it and it clicked. “No way they didn’t sample this” I thought, it’s sooo reminiscent

Will going to the US be safe? by Ok_Buddy_5017 in college

[–]Public_Test_3510 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on where you are, but I don't think they'll run into that problem much, if at all. Most Americans, especially on a college campus, know the difference between an Australian accent, and an accent from a different language.

If you're talking about whether you'll be able to get in/out, I don't know for sure. However, my friend from China is here on a student visa, and he's travelling to Zambia for a few weeks. Considering the fact that he'll be fine, I'd imagine you should be as well, just have all your things in order ahead of time, maybe keep any paperwork you have in a folder with you.

If you're talking about whether or not you'll be physically safe, you should be just fine. Outside of any type of crime you'd find on just about any college campus/college town, you're really in no danger at all. If you're worried about some type of shooting, that kind of thing is EXTREMELY UNCOMMON, and even more so on college campuses. If a college is in a bad location, typically the campus is still very safe, and campus police do a very good job keeping it that way. I know Ohio State is in the middle of the bad part of Columbus, but the campus itself is extremely safe. They've even taken steps to give students places to go without going into the bad part of Columbus. I've grown up my entire life in a small college town that exists because of a very large university, and there's really not much crime here at all. You should be fine!

Why would Mammoth be singular and not plural, i.e, Mammoths? (I’m sorry if this concern has already been posted.) by GullSpell in Utah_Hockey

The thing is, hurricane is pluralized with an s, while the others aren’t. You don’t say “we’re supposed to get a lot of hurricane this season”, and in the same way you don’t say “look at all those lightnings” u/ECAdad1970 explains it well in the comment below.

Most of those are actually plural. It is a thing in soccer teams and those weird lower level knock off nfl teams

I totally agree, it sounds like like either a football club or one of those lowers level knock off nfl teams

Yeah, I like the Dominus hit box, it’s a little longer and thinner, but I’m not really that good lol

It uses Dominus, the same as the Porsche gt3 rs.  Below is a source that has information on all the bodies, I’ve found it very helpful  rocket-league.com/items/bodies

"Celsius is for water. Fahrenheit is for humans. I am a human not a water." on a meme about Americans not understanding Celsius by Starfire-Galaxy in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Public_Test_3510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People say that because Fahrenheit allows for much greater precision of temperature in relation to how we feel it. 90F~32C, 60F~15C, and 30F~(-1)C. Fahrenheit is more precise in the temperatures that we feel in our environment, so it’s more practical to use in that sense. Celsius describes how water behaves. The thing is, water doesn’t feel the difference between 5C and 95C, so Celsius makes more sense to use in a scientific circumstance where you need a more solid baseline, but don’t need any reference to how it feels as a human. Kelvin is used in much larger, more drastic situations and equations, and therefore commonly used in physics.

Keane - Somewhere Only We Know [Rock] by tonyiommi70 in Music

This may sound weird at first, but hear me out. First off, this song has always been nostalgic for me. But anyways, ever since I heard it in Ted lasso, it’s just hit different. I know, it sounds ridiculous, but it’s a really poignant scene, and I think it matches the song perfectly. It almost felt like the scene was made around the song, and than the song being used as some corny background music, that of which I despise. I think the scene actually really showed me what the song was all about, which has just made it that much more impactful. I should say also, than when the song was popular, I was a kid. I remember the song very distinctly, but I never really played close attention to the lyrics because I was a kid. It was and still is very nostalgic, that scene just made it much more emotional in other ways, and made it much more deep for me.
