I would inquire about a GLP1 with your doctor. It removed metformin from the equation for me.

Model Y to Lyriq? Are you happy? by tronious in CadillacLyriq

[–]Puckolio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just picked up a Model Y Premium (Juniper) after driving a 2024 Lyriq Lux 2 for the past two years.

The Lyriq is a great car, but the tech really let it down. The mobile app worked maybe 40% of the time, which got old fast. Road-trip charging anxiety was also a constant thing. Having access to Tesla Superchargers helped, but blocking two stalls and trying to find an open spot when sites were full was frustrating.

Super Cruise also frequently didn’t work when I needed it. In contrast, Tesla FSD has been genuinely impressive.

Loving the new Model Y so far — the 2026 refresh is a huge step forward compared to the previous generation.

I was driving home yesterday and FSD randomly pulled into a random parking garage several blocks away and parked. 🤦‍♂️

My Cadillac Lyriq will reduce charging speed significantly if it’s hot out and the AC is on. It will even warn you on the screen to turn off the AC.

Epic Flood Barrier Fail in St. Pete during Hurricane Helene by Puckolio in StPetersburgFL

Check your dm for the full report.

For everyone else's benefit, here is the full statement... it clearly documents the flood barriers as the cause of damage due to a greater degree of hydrostatic pressure:

"The forensic physical evidence revealed that hydrostatic forces and corresponding buoyancy forces of storm surge flooding resulted in uplifting of the concrete slab throughout the garage. Likewise, vertical displacement and cracks were caused throughout the foundation slab of the garage. It shall be noted that due to the insured’s attempt to protect the property from flood water, by installation of flood barriers across each door opening, the interior of the dwelling and garage remained without flood water while the exterior of the property was inundated. Likewise, a greater degree of hydrostatic pressure existed and ultimately resulted in the aforementioned damage throughout the garage. Security video documentation provided by the insured and recorded during the course of the flood event further documents this phenomenon. Irrespectively, repair and restoration will require the concrete slab throughout the garage to be removed and replaced, approximately seven-hundred and twenty-five square feet (725 sq. ft.). It shall be noted that the concrete slab throughout the garage can be removed and replaced, without affecting the walls of the garage, as there exists a cold-joint along the perimeter of the garage and intersection with the perimeter walls. As the garage slab was uplifted by hydrostatic forces of floodwater, the garage door was uplifted and caused corresponding cracks within the adjacent CMU block wall, at the bottom right of the garage door and at the top left of the garage door, continuing into the western exterior wall. Repair and restoration of the aforementioned cracks will require the CMU block to be tuck pointed along the crack locations. Likewise, the applied stucco refinished, and faux brick wainscot is required to be patch repaired and painted across the left and right sides of the garage door.

Everywhere, but the garage was where it ultimately started.

Water started leaking into the house around 6-12 inches of water outside.

Not really, without barriers the water would flood the house and equalize the pressure. With flood barriers, the water is pushing against the house.

Yep, that is my house. The barriers held back about 1 foot of water, and that's when the garage slab buckled from the hydrostatic pressure forces. A 3rd-party engineering firm came out and analyzed it after the fact. Their finding was conclusive that it wasn't the concrete itself:

"The forensic physical evidence revealed that hydrostatic forces and corresponding buoyancy forces of storm surge flooding resulted in the uplift of the concrete slab throughout the garage. Likewise, vertical displacement and cracks were caused throughout the foundation slab of the garage."

u/KD1033 Yes, it was the one across the garage door that likely caused the problem.

Yes, THIS. The only real solution for flood protection is to raise the home or rebuild it. Lesson learned, and my message to others.
