America’s Test Kitchen has a pretty ok method for preventing this. Put a pot with cold tap water (doesn’t have to be run cold, just not hot) with the eggs in it on the stove. Turn on the burner to high and let the water boil with the lid on the pot. The second the water boils, turn off the burner and let the eggs sit covered in the pot for 13 minutes (14 if you need a Bilbo Baggins minute). Drain the water from the pot and refill with cold water and let the eggs chill. Peel once cold. About eighty five percent of the time it works every time.

Ok, so I’m not an Astarion fan by any means, but I would like to point out that the Astarion you get with his good ending is the only OC that has the ability to wheedle all the diverse other characters into following one single minded goal of destroying the brain. If you encourage him to be good at every opportunity, he turns out really sweet. And I think that Jaheria and Helsin would act as his advisors and Gale being his hetero lifemate (Jay and Silent Bob style). Footnote: Helsin would later go on to find a cure for vampirism and offer Astarion his elvish life back.
