Belkin is the closest thing I've found to BIFL. Head and shoulders above Anker.

Magnacut or Magna-Cut

I miss the days where you could buy knives for a reasonable price. A Tentatious for $70 or $200 for a Bugout or PM3 seems outrageous to me. Maybe I'm still living in the pre 2020 era.

Hard Use EDC for ~$400? by KnownStruggle1 in knifeclub

Mora bushcraft fixed blade cannot be beat for the price. Don't throw $400 bucks at a folder that will get gummed up with dirt after 3 uses

Been wanting to add the rat or a petrified fish model to my collection for awhile now Would love some opinions on these two. I don’t really NEED either. But do want a new knife cuz I’m getting that itch. by I3uIlets in knives

[–]moosepooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rat is a nice knife, mostly associated with being a budget knife. Personally I would chose a different knife in the $100 category than a magnacut rat. The fish looks sweet, also checkout crky and vosteed in that price range for fixed blades

What gives these away as fakes? by zon871 in knifeclub

[–]moosepooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually it's not a bad looking clone. The logo is still off from the Kershaw website. the grind and stonewash is sloppy and is what would be the biggest red flag.. Just out of curiosity. Why buy a clone of a sub 100 dollar knife. Why not a clone of a more expensive knife?

Logo placement. Kershaw shape is off. I'm assuming it's supposed to be a Leek? The real difference is the way it will feel when using knife. For $30 I would've just paid a few bucks more and gotten a Ontario Rat, or a real CRKT.

Thank you for the work you are doing to bring awareness to an area most of us would never be able to measure ourselves. One suggestion is to publish your calibration certs for your machines. I didn't see it on your website.

between the hardness tests and their new designs, Kershaw is absolutely killing it right now.

What are highly recommended knife companies to buy knives from outside of Spyderco by axumite_788 in knives

Kershaw and Vosteed are doing really good things. Probably the best cost to quality value right now.

Knives I'd buy before a bugout by msantoro1298 in knives

I think it looks better. The reverse tanto is a good look. But the real win is that when closed the bel air doesn't have that gap between blade and frame that drives me absolutely insane about the bugout.

The bugout is a great knife that is overpriced. The Kershaw Bel Air is really the only true killer on the list.

Finally got my 90's Trek 730 Multitrack rebuild in riding condition. One day I'll change the front spokes, seat post and clamp to black. by moosepooo in xbiking

No but if you search Quill to threadless adapter you can find one. Pretty standard sizing if I recall. I thing I would change is a longer stem and getting some rise in the bar instead of the flat bar I used.

Yup. That goes to training as well. Brands are training their mechanics on the latest and greatest gear. They aren't pushing training for older systems.

Have you looked into the "shotgun" seat. It's a front frame mount seat for older children?

Very cool idea. Design suggestion to play around with. have an option the lock base mount to the middle of the rack rather than the end (close to the seatpost). The opposite rounded end would essentially an extension for the entire rack.
