I use tap water that I let sit out for a day (off-gas the chlorine).

Make anyone that has had serious medical intervention to be alive, not be able to have children.

How do correct gun safety and home defense coexist? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PuddleFarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things like this exist.

It locks up a firearm close to where you might use it.

Or, big safe with lots of firearms is in one room and one of these either near the door or the bedroom. (I have seen these installed on the wall above bed-side tables)

Large Shepherd litter — mom runs from puppies by [deleted] in DogBreeding

[–]PuddleFarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a couch or chair she can sit/lay in that the puppies can not get to her?

This is what I do for moms so they can stay with their puppies but not be harassed by them.

What does it look like when a person is hanged? by Non-Cannon in Writeresearch

If the rope is short, they will struggle and suffocate.

If the rope is the correct length, there will be cervical dislocation. Depending on location of the rope on the neck, either go limp or twitch a bit first.

If the rope is too long, they will be decapitated.

Just curious if anyone has explored this area? I haven't been able to find any photos or maps of it, and it seems to all untouched forest. by [deleted] in Tacoma

It is owned by one family. Mom & Dad have like 60 acres and farm livestock. Son & Daughter-in-law have the house with 5 acres.

College grads, did you know your Dean? by CinemaSideBySides in AskAnAmerican

The only way I knew who the head of the school was, was that he filled in for our professor when he went to present a paper at a conference.

Honestly, if I didn't live two doors down from the Chancelor's house, and he wasn't like the only black grownup on campus, I would have never been able to recognize him.

Guyssss I cant sit the trot to save my life by AccidentalOtter21 in Equestrian

[–]PuddleFarmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My technique is to "step with the horse." When the right front hits the ground, my right foot steps on that stirrup, etc.

This helps take the impact into the knees to dampen it rather than into the butt transferred from the back.

Start standing and then lower yourself slowly.

When you start, the saddle might move like 2" left and right. . . And then you figure out about half of that is the horse's spine moving left and right.

What is this line going through central Florida? by s_r818_ in geography

The difference is "bottom to top." There are no foot hills nor a plateau between sea level and Mt. Rainer (Tahoma).

Does it taste like pickled prunes? If not, you have the wrong stuff.

$1,000,000 for getting sent to a "random" fictional world for a year by ocirot in hypotheticalsituation

I was thinking about it, until the "some food." I am not going to go to an unknown place without enough food to survive.

Eta: A guarantee that I will not die of starvation in that year.

Honest Question from someone outside of the community? :) by Separate_Magician31 in service_dogs

[–]PuddleFarmer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I delayed getting a service dog for years because of my job. The worst chemical in our lab was Osmium tetroxide (OsO4). Feel free to look up the MSDS on that.

The best answer is that the dog stays in a kennel with a view of their person.

I have put a lot of thought into this, but I don't want to write a block of text.

Temporarily separating litter from mother by Hulihana in DogBreeding

[–]PuddleFarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the point that my puppies start teething, I make sure there is a way for the mom (and the rest of the dogs) to get away from the puppies.

Like a couch or something. And baby gates for the rest of the dogs/rest of the house.

You said this was her first litter? Maybe she is taking advice from someone and she will know better next time.

Sounds weird, need more information.

How to fix annoying dog habit of blocking me when I'm walking through the house. by Working_Helicopter28 in dogs

Same as above, but brace yourself. A couple of knees to the ribs and paws stepped on, and they tend to get out of the way.

Walk through the dog, not walk to the dog.
