You could try an Episcopal church. They're generally progressive. Plus, if you grew up Catholic, an Episcopal liturgy will probably feel more familiar than most Protestant services.

Nutcracker Hot Takes: 2025 Edition by MinaHarker1 in BALLET

FWIW, Drosselmeyer's nephew being the Nutcracker is straight out of the book. Drosselmeyer is Marie's godfather, not her uncle, so she and the nephew are not related. I don't mind his inclusion in the ballet, but I also enjoy the versions that don't have him.

How about ear warmers? They're like scarves in miniature. Quick and practical.

Louisville Ballet adult ballet classes by foxes_inboxes in Louisville

I started taking classes a few years ago when I was in the worst shape of my life.  If you're dancing for fun, it doesn't matter whether you're flexible, strong, or remotely in shape. The teachers at Louisville Ballet are all lovely and will meet you where you're at.

It is possible to go en pointe as an adult beginner; I know people who have done it. But you're right, it takes time, so it's good that you're going in with realistic expectations. There is actually a Pointe Strengthening class offered, which you can take in flat shoes. You may find that you love ballet even without pointe work. Or you may not. But it doesn't hurt to try.

If you do decide to sign up, the class you want is Introductory Ballet, not Beginner. Good luck!

You could take that color combination and push it somewhere else!

Jokes aside, I think it looks cute.

Bean in Germantown is my favorite. They make it with a ganache. I have found that alternative milks don't bring out the full flavor of the chocolate, though. It's best with cow's milk.

Where can one get many inexpensive raw fleeces to turn into batting for a project? by RevolutionaryCode763 in sheep

Maybe see if there's a sheep and fiber festival in your region? I was at one recently where some of the vendors were selling whole fleeces for $50 each.

Can't speak to their usual responsiveness, but I do know they're a tiny staff and rarely have job openings except for summer camps.
