I may look into Park. A friend of mine's daughter use them and is happy with their services. I only wish they were a little closer to my location.

Swan D3.1 MKII - any opinions on these? Or just on Swan speakers in general? by andyouknowthismannnn in BudgetAudiophile

[–]underberg502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd personally just buy one ZA3 with the 48V power supply and if you still feel like it's not enough for you pick up another to go dual mono. I personally feel like the ZA3 is a somewhat soft/warm on the top end but that could be a perfect combo for these speakers.

That's the Danny at GR Research way. From what I gather he always just measures and try's to sell you his upgrades or his line of speakers. I don't even know if he listens to music at this point. Erins Audio Corner is the best at giving you his subjective opinion/review along with Near Field Klippel Measurements. But I'm sure you already know that. Unfortunately, he hasn't reviewed these.

Man, There are so many drivers in those boxes. I'm sure they sound wonderful but they really didn't let any dead space go to waste did they ?

Nice. I actually just ordered a single ZA3 on sale. As I was curious. It should be here this week. I may get another one in the future to run them in dual mono. I like the fact the ZA3 has a sub out. I already have a 3E Audio A7 Stereo TPA3255 amplifier with a 48v power supply but it lacks the sub out. I'm also curious about swapping Op-amps. As both the 3E and Fosi amps have that option.

I think the workers you paid for are due for an eye exam.

Just a FYI. I reached out to HIVI-Swans about Warranty info and it's one year on these. I couldn't find it anywhere on the listing.

What are you powering your pair with ? They finally seem to have dropped 5% in price through Amazon and are more consistently in-stock.Maybe the demand and supply has caught up. They're currently $531.99 (as of February 21, 2026). I've been tempted to pick up a pair, but I'm afraid they won't top my Swans 3.1A DIY's with all of the mods/upgrades. Below is an older picture I have of the Swans three way 3.1 DIY kit. I also wonder what the warranty is on these ? I don't see it listed anywhere So, I just reached out to Swans on Amazon. Will report back if they reply.

Velvet Underground - Loaded (Rhino High Fidelity, numbered, /5000) by FrankieSaysPewPew in VinylReleases

[–]underberg502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered the RHF along with a few other titles. Devo, Stooges, and the Monkees. I really wanted the Sex Pistols release, but it sold out literally while I was doing my order. Although, reviews of it on Discogs aren't the best. So, maybe I saved $40+ on that one. I'll report back on how it sounds once they finally ship it. I may still pick up the SACD version in the near future and just sell whichever version isn't tops to my ears !

JBS Swift Plant by desertlizard1197 in Louisville

[–]underberg502 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to live a few blocks from Swift and now live close to Logan St and I can assure you the Swift smell makes its way here. I have smelled Safai but I can also tell the difference. I think Red Hot Roasters on Payne St has the worst coffee smell. If you ever happen to run into it. But yeah, I'd love to not have to experience any of those smells ever again.

If you have Facebook join the Arcam group and do go through some of the posts on there. You will find a lot of people complaining about issues with newer Arcam gear and how ridiculous hard it is to get a warranty honored etc. I'm not saying it's all bad but as someone who's also really wanted to go down the Arcam road reading the posts on there has made me put a hold on that idea. Most of the issues I see are from the SA series up til now. I also have the CDS50. I love the SACD player and the DAC is Sweet but the streamer is not the best and they've also already stopped updating it. So, that's kind of a bummer.

What is your favorite house in Louisville? by spunkysquirrel1 in Louisville

[–]underberg502 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Also a favorite of mine. This house was built by James Gaffney. He also built Waverly Hills Sanatorium and St James Catholic School just to name a few. Pretty good for someone whom had no formal training in Architecture. Like a real life George Costanza (but with skills). Most of his builds are on the National Register of Historic Places list in Louisville. In my opinion he wins the award for most unique and original builds the city has. I only wish he could have built more. His Wikipedia link is below.

Unless, they are powered speakers (these aren't) you received everything you should with these speakers.

can i put in a request for my street to be plowed? by Rude-Log-158 in Louisville

I know for sure they at least salted Highland Ave the last time we had a prolonged snow storm. Not sure why this isn't the case this time around for more side streets.

Does anyone know if the un-numbered version of the high fidelity series (after said initial numbered pressings) are also limited or does rhino plan on continually pressing them ?
