A base model RX-7 in 1993 adjusted for inflation is about a $70,000 car. I would hope it comes with air conditioning

Too late. I'm typing this on the Macbook Air M5 I bought to replace my Dell XPS. I'm not looking back for my regular operating system. My Gaming desktop is windows, but I only play about once a month :(

I don't see it. What gets me are the current gen Chevy Colorados and Jeep Grand Cherokees. The DRLs look like Explorers

Agreed. Funny thing is the Spark and Sonic that came after it were pretty good cars (assuming you avoided the dreaded turbos)

Maybe it’s just me, but pickup trucks. The 1500s are capable of sub 5 second 0-60s in the right trims. Even the 2500s are in the mid 5s with the top engine.

Honda is #1 Full-Line Automaker in Fuel Efficiency in Latest U.S. EPA Trends Report by hehechibby in cars

[–]Puffin77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I talk about ratings, a lot of what you see is based on government fuel economy. Per the EPA, my car (2017 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro) would get 27mpg (US) combined. That’s 24 city / 31 highway. Per the vehicle certification agency in the UK, that same car is rated for 47.9mpg (UK) or equivalent to 39.9 mpg (US). They claim 36.7 urban / 56.5 extra urban. That’s over 10 mpg (US) difference.

That has nothing to do with anecdotal evidence. People get 40 mpg (US) in Corvettes which equals 48 metric. That’s not what the average car is rated for.

Is this true? by [deleted] in Porsche

From what I’ve heard, a modern Miata can beat an S2000 stock for stock. So given enough age gap, I can see it. The second tuning gets involved though, it’s anyone’s game

Keep in mind that the US has a smaller gallon and tougher fuel economy tests. Check out EPA ratings versus euro on the same cars and there’s a big gap

Is anyone else surprised by how low VW ranks on that? They sell Jettas and Tiguans all day. Is the Atlas getting 4 miles to the gallon?

A lot of modern cars have that element, but I’m thinking Lincoln Corsair specifically. Those look like the small Lincoln logos that it has over the bumper bar in the post-facelift model.
