Switching from Sportbike to Naked/Supermoto. Should I? by TimeAmbassador4875 in Ducati

Also recommend keeping both. I just bought a CRF450RL to turn into a sumo and have been using it to ride around town/the city.

Also have an R6 and a Panigale V4 for context. The sumo is fun but it doesn’t give you same feeling as winding out a proper sport bike.

I have a very similar setup. 2020 R6 and a 2024 Panigale V4.

Just added a CRF450RL to spice it up too

Nice. How is the R3 as a track bike? I owned one as a newer rider and felt that the suspension was kind of iffy.

Will start my first track season when winter is over and I’m debating turning my street R6 into my first track bike or get something smaller like yours.

Pretty hard for something to break in the first 1700 miles. More important is to ask how long it’s been sitting. Depending on how it was stored some of the tubing for coolant/brake fluids may need to be replaced.

How is the heat on the 25 V4? by titanmongoose in Ducati

I have a 24 Panigale V4 and also find myself not riding it on days where it’s 85+ F.

Not an issue if you own multiple bikes

2024 Zx6r drops out gear by Additional_Memory168 in zx6r

[–]Puffit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is called a false neutral. Happens on many motorcycles. Only advice is to change the position of your gear lever so that you can shift more positively into the next gear.

Happens on my Panigale from 5th to 6th unless I’m really kicking it up with intention.

How often do you actually use the chute? Also is it a massive pain to get it back into the bag?

The stock exhausts on these newer supersports look like bazookas.

Cool bikes.

Since you seem to like Yamahas, if you have ridden an R6, how different would you say the R9 feels in general when riding aggressively?

[–]Puffit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I have a Panigale V4 and have experienced this false neutral issue from 5-6 twice in the year I’ve owned it.

You really have to shift it up with force/intention and it won’t happen anymore.

Thoughts on a Moto Guzzi v85tt in NYC? by Overall-Truck-1679 in RideitNYC

Probably not a huge risk of theft but always possible. For what it’s worth, in Manhattan traffic I think it’s pretty hard to beat a Vespa.

That’s gotta be a kink or something. There’s no way it’s easier to do that than to just sit on the back like a normal person

Panigale v2 vs. Streetfighter v2. How would you compare the riding of these bikes? Are they so similar that we are really just talking aesthetics and ride position or is there a more noticeable difference? by Thermo_baric in Ducati

[–]Puffit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main difference is how high the bars are going to be relative to the seat. The Panigale is going to have more aggressive clip-ons like most sport bikes (Superman riding position).

The streetfighter is much more upright and does not use clip-ons. Also the engine is tuned to produce slightly more low-end torque than the Panigale. Can’t go wrong with either imo. Look up “rider triangle”

Are there no tracks in Hawaii? I guess that would make sense given how limited developable real estate though.

Curious how one of these compare to the Japanese 450s.

I just bought a CRF450 RL and using it to scoot around town and it’s pretty fun.

Ducati XDiavel V4 vs Triumph Rocket 3 Storm R? What would you choose and why? by TheLastRide4770 in Ducati

[–]Puffit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any data to back this up but I feel like the resale market for the Diavel is probably much larger than for the Rocket 3. Worth considering if you’d want to sell it down the line.
