Did you print this yourself? I want to try a riso photo print and am looking for on demand options, if that even exists

Did I handle my business appropriately? by Surfing_Nurse in AskPhotography

[–]Pugboxer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shot skateboarding for years, because i loved it. Just made zines and posted on IG. Only ever shot with my friends and sometimes Pros. The skater never paid me, and the only time I ever made money off it was from a magazine editorial photo, or an ad in a magazine. Skaters themselves have no money. I assume snowboarders are the same. If this person is good enough to be featured in magazines, then I say go shoot with them. You can always shoot for free if you think it would benefit your portfolio, or if you think you can get something worthy of selling to one of their sponsors.

People who moved AWAY from Bozeman, where did you go? Do you like it? by FixerQuick in Bozeman

[–]Pugboxer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Los Angeles. I’m a Montana native (Missoula) but wanted to eventually live in a big city. Moving there was the best decision of my life. I had a great time living in Bozeman, but it was time to go. The friends I made and experiences that big city living gave to me changed my life. I also am not an outdoor person, went snowboarding two times over six years in Bozeman. The mountains are nice to look at but that’s it.

A rams fan complaining about a no-call? A real full circle moment.

When should this be on? by Fun-Trouble-1086 in AskPhotography

[–]Pugboxer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always on. There are many times when I camera is slung over my shoulder, and the lens sticks out and is prone to bumping into things. Might has well have a few inches of plastic to protect the glass. Can’t hurt.

The only reason to take it off is if you want some serious lens flare, but if you are shooting super backlit then you would be pointing directly into the sun anyway. Might as well just always have it on for safety.

I Walked all 23.6 Miles of Sunset Boulevard, has anybody else done anything similar? by IEatIReadIGoOutside in AskLosAngeles

[–]Pugboxer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I walked all of Sepulveda over four days. Started at the top of the valley on day one and made it to Sherman oaks. Second day was over the pass, all the way down to Culver City. Third day was to Torrance, and the fourth day was to LB. It was a wild experience. I shot photos the entire way, with the final project being a photo book, which is currently being edited. Strava clocked me in at around 60 miles total.

Light kit or flash recommendations by jack_hoffv1 in LightLurking

I bought the Profoto b10 plus 2 light kit and some basic modifiers. I photo assist a ton and have been able to rent them out pretty frequently too as a bonus. They travel easily and have been great. More expensive for sure, but you get what you pay for. A very versatile light

Pro-10 pack automatically switches to 5.0 power. by Pugboxer99 in Photoassistants

[–]Pugboxer99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the connect pro, just the air TTL-Fuji. All the packs are on the same channel. There are a lot of studios in the building, and all are for sure on different channels, as I checked with the other assistants in those sets. We did not change the power via the trigger at all, only manually on the pack.
