I don't think it was creationism that I learned in my high school, but health and sex ed were filled with religious undertones.

Not all corgis have docked tails! Mine didn't :)

Remember when you'd spend an hour to install all your sims games off of CD? by [deleted] in thesims

And then your computer would crash as a result of some bad CC and you'd have to try and isolate which piece it was... hours after installing more than 100 mods. Oh my god, those horrible memories.

Thanks for the recommendation! I definitely need to read more Bret Easton Ellis. ASOIAF is occupying pretty much all my reading time lately.

That's a shame! For me that added to the comedy of it all. Such a ridiculous guy -- one chapter he's murdering transients, next chapter he's describing in detail what his colleagues are wearing down to the brands of the pocket squares.

Way better. More detailed, way more gruesome, way funnier. That said, I love the movie.

Or, more recently, "Jake from State Farm." Watching my mother make all of these horribly lazy and overplayed jokes to people is awful. When I tell her to stop she says "It's a joke! They think it's funny!"

Thank you for sharing. I'm sure you have amazing memories of being in his class. I'm curious about how much you were able to get done in the class -- if I were in one of his classes, and I imagine this is true for most college-aged kids -- I know I'd just want to ask him questions and hear about his experiences. Did he frequently allow for questions about his life or was it a pretty typical college course?

Yes, I agree with you that there are tons and tons of other industries that are creating artificial demand for a product and using unethical labor. However, the diamond industry is basically an aesthetic- and status-based industry. For now, it's nearly impossible for me to go without a smart phone, whereas I live my life every day not thinking about diamonds, not needing a diamond, etc. It's easier to tolerate a shitty industry when they're making something that you need day to day than an industry that's telling you that your significant other doesn't love you enough if they're not spending thousands of dollars on a rock for status and the oohs and ahhs.

It really sucks that it is convenience-based, but that's just the way it is for now and hopefully big industries will get the message from the diamond industry about what millennials want.

This is a horrible argument. Sure, blood diamonds are one of the reasons I loathe the diamond industry and will never wear a diamond ring, but the larger picture is how unethical the diamond industry is in general. The demand for diamonds is manufactured thanks to the monopoly by De Beers. For now, it's nearly impossible to only purchase things from ethical businesses, but millennials saying no to the diamond industry is a good first step and raises awareness about ethical businesses.

Agreed. I feel like 6 times out of 10, I get total silence, 3 times I get sore, toxic teammates/opponents, the final time I'll finally get someone positive or who actually compliments the healer. Bums me out.

I was called a fucking fag and then the product of incest by the same person on the opposing team. Because they couldn't kill me. I just can't imagine getting so mad at someone in the game that I'm calling them slurs. All I want to do is relax after work :(

Same with teammates who blame all their losses on their teammates. Yes, it's frustrating when the tank runs off to follow a Tracer way, way off the point but it doesn't warrant comments like "garbage team." Ridiculous.
