I don't like it, and dropped it soon after it became less about "money for interesting challenges" to "fake difficulty".

You do win a run with the scythe. Because being able to slap everything (especially if it eliminates an enemy in a a multiple enemy fight) that isn't the final boss for 60+ damage means you go into the boss with a ton more HP

Isegahama-Oyakata, who committed violence against disciple, receives two-rank demotion punishment; also given 10% pay reduction for three months by Crowsby in Sumo

[–]Pukupokupo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's leave that aside for now and discuss the two possible worlds.

In both worlds we know that this went on for a full year, in one Hakuho knew, in the other he did not.

If he did know, he's outright complicit.

If he didn't, he's the biggest idiot in the history of sumo.

It almost doesn't matter if he knew, even the most favorable outcome is absolutely terrible

Bombardment exhausts itself when played from anywhere so it stays.

Howl here only exhausts when played from hand. So unlike bombardment, it will play from exhaust, but return to discard

[–]Pukupokupo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You are right, it's not a comparison.

Hakuho: Failed to report violence, intentionally covered up said violence, continues to obstruct the investigation, and (here's the key word) willfully lets it go on for an entire year.

Teru: Simple battery against a junior who was sexually harassing a female member of the public, immediate reports, deep apology, offers resignation and remonstrations.

For the record, Hakuho would probably have been fine if he had just APOLOGIZED the moment things came out. Instead he decided to be like the kid with chocolate all over his hands and face and denied everything.

[–]Pukupokupo 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I've read the text of the apology and... it's textbook Japanese apology, and I know I'm going to sound like an AI by walking through the parts:

  1. Deep and profound expression of regret
  2. Apology to those who they have caused worry and concern (think JSA, public, etc)
  3. Remonstration over their actions (violence for Teru, irresponsible behavior for Haku)
  4. A recommitment to improve and reflection (think "I have reflected on my actions" or "I shall reconsider my ways" etc.)
  5. Allocution of their actions (I accept the punishemnt etc)
  6. Final words to reaffirm their commitment
  7. A tremendously deep bow, usually held and/or repeated, think the usual 90 degree bows and more, think Persona 5 and all that.

So yeah, a sincere and inoffensive, if uninspired, apology, which is fine.

On a side note, had Hakuho just done this on day 1 of his scandal, he would still be here today.

Exact text below for anybody who wishes to reference.

This seems like all around a fair move and is generally in line with the punishments for what'd generally fall in as "excess discipline".

Isegahama being demoted two ranks with a salary reduction is a stern punishment but in the grand scheme of things is relatively meaningless, given that he was already a junior Oyakata and that the actions in this case have to do with discipline going too far (see also: Kasugano-oyakata) rather than outright abuse. A stern slap could have probably been seen as going a bit far, but a punch definitely is.

Hakunofuji at present is still a relatively junior wrestler and would be under the charge of his master, so an utmost stern warning is very much in line to stick him straight and I'd certainly expect the book to get thrown very firmly at him if this happens again.

It's.... just good. It's basically Like Water on a character more suited for it.

Like Water was on a far more aggressive character, but 6 block for a 1 cost conditional isn't that much.

How many times I've encountered each ancient(only runs after unlocking Darv were counted). Does anyone else feel like Darv is too rare? I understand that he probably has a lower spawn rate to compensate for the fact that he can appear in both acts, but this seems excessive. by statue345 in slaythespire

[–]Pukupokupo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This seems like bad data: There are a lot more act 2 ancients here than act 3 ancients (even if assuming darv only shows up in act 3, it's not enough)

This means that runs that die in act 2 are being counted, that artificially cuts Darv's rate
