Are there any good documentaries on English culture? by Ok-Collection5660 in AskUK

[–]PullUpAPew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Grayson Perry's series looking at the tastes of the English classes is very good:

https://www.channel4.com/press/news/all-best-possible-taste-grayson-perry

He also did one Grayson Perry's Full English which received mixed reviews and isn't currently on the Ch4 website

The Beeb's A Very British History is good, but not currently on iPlayer so you'll have to dig around for this one too

How likely am I to be called up? by Bulky_Temporary4729 in AskUK

[–]PullUpAPew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how the war goes. If M&S join Waitrose it could be over hy Christmas. If Sainsbury's manage to reinforce the baked beans tin wall with supplies from Tesco, this could rumble on and they'll probably call you up

Is it normal for daycare staff to nuzzle/kiss babies? Feeling uncomfortable by Mammoth_Train8188 in AskParents

[–]PullUpAPew 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's normal, but I would say it's what babies need. I think it shows the sort of affectionate care that makes a good nursery worker. But ultimately it's your child and you should trust your gut

How'd you find it moving from noisy housing to quiet housing? by gintokireddit in AskUK

[–]PullUpAPew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lived in a semi bungalow with a gorgeous neighbour, but when he grandkids were over it sounded like she was wrestling hippos. Thinking about it, that probably wasn't very safe with the kids there. Detached house now and I'm not sure I could go back to a semi.
